Gird your loins, friends, for we're apparently about to get another Kennedy candidate forced down our throats.

This time around, it's Jack Schlossberg, son of Caroline Kennedy and grandson of President John F. Kennedy, who, up until this point, was famous only for his family connections and unhinged online rantings. Schlossberg, 32, is apparently set to run for the seat of retiring Democrat Rep. Jerry Nadler in New York's 12th Congressional District.

Media members first got wind Tuesday that an announcement was imminent after Schlossberg sent out an email to supporters, writing, “Jack here with an exciting update .. we are OFFICIALLY launching Jack for New York TOMORROW, November 12 !!” As the Politico reporter here notes, Schlossberg is entering a crowded field to replace Nadler, but almost definitely leads in the number of exclamation points per sentence.

The official announcement had not come as of this writing, but there's a spiffy new campaign website up and running that gives a look into the political newcomer's messaging: "A new generation of leadership for New York."

"Each generation of Americans is tested. The 2026 midterms is our moment," a blurb on the website reads. "I’m running for Congress because the best part of the greatest city on earth needs to be heard loud and clear in Washington and deserves a representative who won’t back down."

In a Tuesday interview with the New York Times, Schlossberg made his case to the voters of New York's CD12: "I also bring two years now of experience in a toxic and polluted media environment where, unlike a lot of people, I know how to breathe that airI think that this district needs somebody who knows how to fight back effectively in this new political era that we’re living in."

What the Heck Happened to JFK's Grandson? Jack Schlossberg's Unhinged Rants Razing Memory of 'Camelot'

The phrasing here is interesting – two years of experience in a toxic media environment? Jack Schlossberg put the "I" in "toxic." His media footprint is one of an aimless, deeply troubled person who's unable to tame his emotions and innermost thoughts. If you're thinking he'd fit right in on Capitol Hill, you're not wrong.

Here's a sampling of the discourse put forth by the political wannabe:

Schlossberg — known for his wild social media rants — is an outspoken critic of the Trump administration, including his cousin, Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. He even mocked RFK Jr.’s spasmodic dysphonia, which affects his ability to speak, in an Instagram post earlier this year.

He has also asked his followers if Vice President JD Vance’s wife, Usha, is “hotter” than his late grandmother Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis; described his cousin’s wife, actress Cheryl Hines, as looking “super-dehydrated”; and suggested conservative CNN pundit Scott Jennings drinks his “own pee” in a series of unhinged X posts.

There are at least two people who seem unimpressed with Schlossberg's candidacy. First is his mother, Caroline, former U.S. ambassador to Australia. She has reportedly been "living in fear" that a congressional run would make her son "a target for violent haters."

The other is Jerry Nadler himself. When Schlossberg first teased a run back in September, Nadler was decidedly unimpressed. "Well, there’s nothing particularly good or bad about a Kennedy holding my seat. But the Kennedy, unlike Schlossberg, should be somebody with a record of public service, a record of public accomplishment, and he doesn’t have one."

"[Schlossberg] certainly is not going to be a major candidate," Nadler concluded.
