In the least-surprising post-debate reveal ever, it's come to light that Kamala Harris, darling of ABC News and its moderators, was introduced to her husband by none other than the woman who -- you guessed it -- oversees ABC News.
Katie Pavlich, writing over at our sister site Townhall, has the details (via The New York Times):
ABC News, the host of next month’s high-stakes presidential debate, falls under the purview of a top corporate executive at Disney who happens to be longtime friends with the Democratic nominee.
The executive, Dana Walden, first met Kamala Harris in 1994. Their husbands, Matt Walden and Doug Emhoff, have known each other since the 1980s. The Waldens — “extraordinary friends,” per the vice president — have donated money to Ms. Harris’s political campaigns since at least 2003, when she ran for district attorney in San Francisco.
"In many ways, Dana and Matt are responsible for my marriage,” Ms. Harris joked at a fund-raiser in April 2022 at the Waldens’ home in Brentwood, a wealthy Los Angeles enclave where Ms. Harris and Mr. Emhoff also own a residence. The Waldens, Vice President Harris explained, set up a couple who in turn had set her up with Mr. Emhoff on a blind date.
Oh.
RedState has been all over Tuesday night's presidential debate, with much of the coverage focused on the blatantly preferential treatment given to Harris. Who won? Who lost? What's next? A common theme has emerged: ABC News and moderators David Muir and Linsey Davis -- she of the massively oversized shoulder pads -- set a new low bar for debate moderation. Worse than expected, and very little was expected.
Kamala was handled with kid gloves while Trump was treated to haymaker after haymaker. It's almost like the fix was in.
It couldn't happen to be down to the fact that Kamala and her self-appointed "Second Dude," Doug Emhoff, are buddy-buddy with Dana Walden, the gal pulling the levers at ABC News? Well, Kamala was always going to get special treatment from ABC News because she is, after all, a Democrat. But it obviously goes way deeper than that, with Kamala enjoying a decades-long friendship with Walden. The Democrat-Media Industrial Complex is alive and well, and it was on full display at Tuesday's debate.
Megyn Kelly, who knows quite a bit about the goings-on in corporate media, concluded in her post-debate analysis that moderators Muir and Davis "did the bidding" of Dana Walden. Megyn's rant is worth a watch (warning: she was revved up and was using some salty language).
Megyn Kelly went off on the ABC Debate moderators obvious bias and blames their boss and Kamala’s closest friend for over 30 years, Dana Walden, who also just so happens to run ABC News as co-chairwoman at woke Disney. Kamala’s best friend is the moderators boss! pic.twitter.com/9gNvX2Siu0

As Katie Pavlich notes in her piece, ABC News claims Walden "does not weigh in on editorial decisions." There's no reason to believe that or anything ABC News says, of course, with their debate debacle as proof of their dishonesty.
On the next episode of As the Onion Peels, guess who was the best man at the Harris-Emhoff wedding?
(Just kidding. Maybe.)
