Reeling from mental, emotional, and physical exhaustion and needing a hug and a good cry just 21 days into Donald Trump 2.0, House Democrats have created a "Rapid Response Task Force and Litigation Working Group" to take the fight to Trump.
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries announced this task force Monday. It is supposed to be the focal point of legal challenges against the Trump administration. It will be part of a "multifaceted struggle to protect and defend everyday Americans from the harm being inflicted by this administration."
The task force is composed of, and I swear on a stack of Bibles I am not making this up, "Rep. Rosa DeLauro (CT) of Appropriations, Rep. Gerry Connolly (VA) of Oversight and Rep. Jamie Raskin (MD) of Judiciary." The chairman will be a Jeffries ally, Colorado Representative Joe Neguse, Chairman of the House Democratic Policy and Communications Committee. However, you would be correct in saying, "Is that a real person?"
Don't be fooled. This is performative. It is a messaging device for fundraising (we're fighting the evil OrangeMan) and to help the progressive base of the Democrat party find its way into the Third Stage of Grief (Bargaining) before seamlessly sliding into Stages Four (Depression) and Five (Acceptance). The Senate Democrats are trying the same thing with their pledge to halt all Trump nominations. The result so far has been an overnight debate, with only Democrat participants, that ended in the confirmation of Russ Vought to be director of the Office of Management and Budget; see After a 30-Hour Dramafest, Senate Democrats Fail to Stop Russ Vought’s Confirmation – RedState
The Democrats know their only tool for stopping Trump is the web of morally corrupt judges who will rule in favor of Democrats, knowing they will be reversed, just to slow Trump down.

Unlike last time around, Trump's team seems to have anticipated the lawfare and are prepared to whip it. What is guaranteed is that between the weakness of their position and their desperation to be noticed, this Democrat task force will provide amusing copy for as long as it exists.
