A traffic stop in Odessa, TX, earlier this afternoon led to a running gun battle between a shooter of unknown motive and police. The mailman was driving a stolen mail van keep that in mind. The gunman is dead. At least five people are dead. At least 21 people are injured, at least three of those are police officers. This is what we know now.

– Started with traffic stop
– Suspect fled to Odessa
– Opened fire at multiple scenes
– At least 3 officers shot in total
– At least 21 civilians shot, 5 dead
– Suspect shot and killed
– Suspect: White male, mid-30s
– Motive unknown

Right now we know exactly one thing for certain. No matter what the situation or the motives of the shooter there will be more calls from the left for increased gun regulation. Keep in mind that from what we know in this case, a guy who has stolen a postal van and engages in running gun battle with cops was probably not going to be deterred by more laws.
