TOP O' THE MORNIN'
Red-Hot at RedState
On Monday, after the regular legislative session, Mace requested to use the "Special Orders" session to document the entire story of not just the abuse she claimed was at the hands of Bryant, but of the alleged rape, sexual trafficking, and voyeurism of multiple women by Bryant and his business partners.
'Saw the Victim Hit the Floor' – CNN’s Scott Jennings Witnessed a Deadly Shooting in DC
Washington, DC’s descent into lawlessness has become impossible for the president and Congress to ignore, and Scott Jennings' firsthand brush with the city’s grim reality underscores the urgent need for change to come to the Nation's Capital.
Unfortunately for Schumer, his announcement backfired almost immediately, with irate conservatives taking it upon themselves to use the portal in order to report Democrats... including Schumer himself.

Trump's actions now leverage that overwhelming executive authority to dismantle at least some of the bureaucratic state, starting with the least popular outposts of the United Bureaucracies of America.
Taylor Swift Summed Up What the Left Is Thinking After Three Weeks of Trump
By 2024, however, her endorsement of Harris had little impact, and then there she was on Sunday, getting booed at the Super Bowl. “What’s going on?” The left is losing its edge, that’s what’s going on. And it’s a glorious thing to see.

Who Could've Seen That Coming? Chuck Schumer's Snitch Portal Inspires HILARIOUS Fake Whistleblowers
Democrats can shriek and scream all they want. The American people support what Trump and Musk are doing and, despite what an Obama activist judge might be saying right now, NONE of it is remotely illegal.
WHAT'S ON TAP?
Today on Capitol Hill...
The motion to invoke cloture on confirmation of Tulsi Gabbard as Director of National Intelligence passed Monday, so the 30-hour debate clock is ticking, and her confirmation vote should be held around 1:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Immediately after that, the Senate will vote to break the filibuster on Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for Secretary of Health and Human Services, and, assuming that vote is successful (which it looks to be), he'll get his confirmation vote on Thursday.
Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) took to the House Floor Monday night and gave a brutal, hour-long speech in which she laid out a number of allegations regarding rape, sexual assault, and sex trafficking against her former fiancé and several of his associates, as well as calling out South Carolina law enforcement for failing to properly investigate/prosecute the matter.
Hearings/meetings set for Tuesday on the Hill include:
- House Transportation and Infrastructure, Water Resources and Environment Subcommittee — "America Builds: Clean Water Act Permitting and Project Delivery"
- House Homeland Security, Transportation and Maritime Security Subcommittee — "Examining the PRC's Strategic Port Investments in the Western Hemisphere and the Implications for Homeland Security, Part I"
- House Judiciary, Administrative State, Regulatory Reform, and Antitrust Subcommittee — “Reining in the Administrative State: Regulatory and Administrative Law Reform”
- House Agriculture — "Examining the Economic Crisis in Farm Country"
- House Ways and Means, Oversight Subcommittee — IRS Return on Investment and the Need for Modernization
- House Appropriations, National Security, Department of State, and Related Programs Subcommittee — Oversight Hearing – Mexico’s Water Treaty Violations and the Impact on Americans
There are numerous other hearings set for Tuesday, including the Senate Finance Committee meeting to consider the nomination of Jamieson Greer as U.S. Trade Representative, a key role, particularly in light of President Donald Trump's recently announced tariffs.
White House What's Up
President Trump will host several meetings with the King of Jordan and Crown Prince of Jordan at the White House today in the late morning and early afternoon. He'll be signing additional executive orders at 3:00 p.m. Eastern.
Vice President JD Vance is in France, attending the AI Action Summit before heading to the Munich Security Conference in Germany later in the week, where he's expected to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Vance is expected to meet separately Tuesday with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, according to a person familiar with planning who spoke on the condition of anonymity.
On Tuesday, Vance will have a working lunch with French President Emmanuel Macron, with Ukraine and the Middle East on the agenda.
Keeping Up With the Cabinet
The Cabinet is temporarily closed today for some minor renovations. We promise it will be back up and running Wednesday!
Full Court Press...
Things have really heated up in the courts over the Trump administration's moves, particularly in relation to DOGE, as Democrats and left-leaning entities have sought multiple restraining orders and injunctions in multiple Dem-friendly federal district courts. I am going to do my darnedest to put together a primer on all of these legal actions, but that's going to take some time. In the meantime, I'll leave you with some words of wisdom from our Townhall colleague Kurt Schlichter:
Here is a long take on the court injunction crisis, which is less crisis than an opportunity…
— Kurt Schlichter (@KurtSchlichter) February 11, 2025
OK, stop panicking about all the stupid legal decisions from leftist judges that the left is getting from judge shopping in leftist jurisdictions.
Stop. Panicking.
First, no one should…
In a word (or two): Don't panic.
COMING ATTRACTIONS
As noted above, the vote on Gabbard's confirmation should come in the wee hours of Wednesday morning, with Kennedy's then on Thursday. The Judiciary Committee will also meet on Thursday and vote on advancing Kash Patel's nomination as FBI director to the Senate Floor.
Keep an eye on Vance as he conducts his first trip abroad as VP — there will likely be some news to come from the AI Summit as well as the Munich Security Conference.
MORNING MUSING
My apologies for a slightly truncated Morning Minute today. I was up well before dawn to do a radio hit in Ireland (the radio station is in Ireland, I am not), and thought I'd try to catch some additional zzz's after that — and it threw my whole schedule off. If only I could eliminate the need to sleep, I'm certain I'd be far more productive...
