Hot Takes: The Democrats' Latest Attack on Spencer Pratt Reeks of Big Time Desperation

If you look up the word "shameless" in a dictionary, there should only be two words next to it for the definition: modern Democrats, because shameless is all they ever are anymore (and it's been that way for quite some time).

In fact, shamefully shameless really describes their actions since the start of President Trump's second term, which is really something when one recalls (and we all do) everything they tried to do to him since 2015, including the impeachment hearings and the never-ending lawfare.

Some might disagree with this comparison, but I see a bit of Donald Trump's spirit in L.A. mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt. Not so much as it relates to substance but style - and ambition. Though Trump knew and associated with some pretty powerful people in Hollywood, business, and politics (from both sides of the aisle), he was successful in his own right and didn't need to run for office - but did anyway, because he wanted to make a change, to bust up the D.C. establishment in a most unconventional way.

We've seen that to some extent in Pratt, too, but with some additional motivation: The devastating 2025 Palisades fires in Los Angeles took away his and his family's home, along with thousands of others. It enraged him enough that he wants those in government who he feels are most responsible to be held accountable, if nowhere else than in the court of public opinion, where it perhaps matters most to entrenched Democrats for whom appearances and virtue signaling about "community" are everything.

This is an incontrovertible fact: his mayoral primary opponents, L.A. Mayor Karen Bass (D), first and foremost, are terrified of him, as evidenced, for instance, by how Bass is now pandering to the homeless population in L.A. by suggesting they need "comprehensive healthcare" coverage because they have bad teeth due to meth use.

There are also the near-constant, idiotic attacks on Pratt's residency, with the critics conveniently "forgetting" the part about how his Los Angeles home was burned down, thanks in part to the failures and feckless leadership of Democrats like Bass and California Gov. Gavin Newsom.

But this week, I think we can officially declare beyond a shadow of a doubt that Pratt Derangement Syndrome (PDS) is indeed a real and growing thing, and we have Obama Bro Jon Favreau to thank for confirming it.

Favreau, who was a speechwriter for the former president, has been busy in recent weeks demanding that presumptive Maine Democrat Senate nominee Graham Platner not be judged for the Nazi tattoo he's knowingly had for many years.

And yet when it comes to Pratt, we must disqualify him for a tweet he wrote 17 years ago:

It... did not land well:

Perhaps the most unintentionally hilarious thing to come out of the attempted smear of Pratt by the Obama Bro was exactly what Pratt talked about in that 2009 interview:

So now we get to the underlying root of the problem. ;)

Here's the thing, though. Just like the mindless attacks Democrats have repeatedly launched against Trump, the more they attack, the more it brings converts into the Pratt fold, because while Pratt is not perfect, he's definitely not Karen Bass nor the rest of the failed Democrat establishment in L.A. He actually cares, which for many sounds like just what the doctor ordered:

Keep up the good work, Democrats. You're doing just fine.

Editor’s Note: The 2026 Midterms will determine the fate of President Trump’s America First agenda. Republicans must maintain control of both chambers of Congress.
