ICE Director Todd Lyons Reveals Chilling Message Posted About Him the Week Charlie Kirk Was Assassinated

In the first year of President Trump's second term, assaults against immigration enforcement agents increased by over 1,400 percent, thanks in no small part to incendiary rhetoric spewed from Democrats, including Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, California Gov. Gavin Newsom, and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass.

ICE and Border Patrol agents were disgustingly compared to the Gestapo, were accused of racism and murder, and were frequent targets of doxxing attempts and car-ramming attacks as woketivist agitators worked to impede the Trump administration's mission to take criminal illegal immigrants off the streets. There were also coordinated attempts on their lives, all of which, fortunately, have failed.

On Thursday, there was a Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee hearing on federal and state immigration enforcement oversight related to the operations in Minnesota, the surge of which is winding down. The state's woke Democrat Attorney General, Keith Ellison, got lit up a few times by GOP senators who grilled him over his own anti-ICE rhetoric and for allegedly profiting from the fraud scandals.

Acting ICE director Todd Lyons also testified during the hearing, and in his opening remarks, he emphasized just how bad the attacks and threats had gotten:

We are facing the deadliest operating environment in our agency’s history. ICE personnel, not to mention their families, are under assault like never before in this country. In Fiscal Year 2025, death threats against ICE personnel increased by more than 8,000 percent. Assaults on our officers have skyrocketed by over 1,400 percent. One officer in Minnesota had his finger bitten off by a left-wing protestor, egged on by elected officials characterizing our officers as the "gestapo" or "secret police."
The families of ICE personnel have been made to feel unsafe in their own homes simply because their loved ones have the courage to enforce the laws passed by this Congress. Notably, those criticizing ICE and encouraging this violence against our officers and their families were silent amid the horrors perpetrated by cartels and human traffickers due to a lack of immigration enforcement under the Biden Administration.
I know this reality firsthand. My own family has been targeted. But let me send a message to anyone who thinks they can intimidate us: You will fail.

Later, after being questioned about threats from Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) - who understood the need for masks in the face of all the threats, Lyons revealed the chilling message posted about him the week TPUSA co-founder Charlie Kirk was assassinated:

"I'll just use myself as an example. The week that Charlie Kirk was assassinated, there was a tweet that went out. It said, 'kill Charlie Kirk, kill another,' there was another individual in that, 'kill Todd Lyons.' That's the stuff that I see.
Yesterday, after the testimony on Tuesday, I went back to numerous death threats against my family. There was a videotape of my wife walking to work that people actively post. The cartels have actually posted the schematics to my home. ICE agents feel that every day. We actually did an operation with the Secret Service where we identified doxxers who put up on telephone poles the home addresses and the schools where ICE officers and agents went to."

Lyons went on to note that neither he nor the agents wanted to be masked, but that the threats against them were real.

It's just downright shameful. I mean, one would expect ICE to be under threat from criminal illegals, the cartels, etc. They shouldn't also have to face them from homegrown agitators who have been whipped up by elected Democrats and who are trying to intimidate agents - and the Trump administration - into ceasing operations.
