The horrific crash back in August involving a tractor-trailer whose driver tried to make an illegal U-turn on the Florida Turnpike certainly shone a brighter light on an issue that, before that time, didn't get nearly the attention it deserved: CDLs being issued to illegal immigrants, many of whom don't even speak English.
As RedState reported, a minivan that had no time to slow down and stop crashed into the trailer as the driver, Harjinder Singh, attempted to make the illegal turn. Tragically, two of the three in the minivan died upon impact, while the van's driver later succumbed to their injuries.
Videos showed not only the moment of impact but also Singh, who is from India, looking emotionless while standing outside his vehicle as first responders frantically tried to reach the victims.

We've learned a lot about Singh since that time, not only that he was an illegal immigrant who couldn't speak English, but that he had been in the country illegally since 2018, crossing over into the sanctuary state of California from Mexico, and obtaining Commercial Driver's Licenses from both California and Washington state.
The update to this story just makes it even more infuriating. As it turns out, Singh, who is facing vehicular manslaughter charges in the fatal Florida crash incident, failed his CDL test ten times in Washington state within a two-month window back in 2023. And that's just for starters (bolded emphasis added by Fox News national correspondent Bill Melugin):
BREAKING: A senior official in the FL AG's office tells me initial results of their investigation into Harjinder Singh, the Indian illegal alien truck driver charged w/ killing 3 people in a crash in FL in August, reveal Singh failed his CDL test 10 times in a 2-month window between 3/10/2023 and 5/5/2023 in the state of Washington.
Additionally, I'm told Singh also failed his air [brakes] knowledge test twice, and that the Washington company that provided Singh's behind the wheel CDL training attested he could speak English proficiently, when he couldn't.
The FL AG investigation is ongoing and I'm told there's more to come.
The FL AG’s office also sued California and Washington via SCOTUS last week, asking SCOTUS to prevent both states from issuing CDLs to illegal immigrants, and accusing both states of not complying with federal safety and immigration status requirements when issuing CDLs.

"Ultimately, the state of Washington gave Singh a CDL first, then the state of California also gave him a CDL," Melugin also reported.
Relatedly, in the recent deadly crash in SoCal that killed three and which involved another illegal immigrant truck driver, California Gov. Gavin Newsom's office is acknowledging that the state issued the driver, Jashanpreet Singh, a CDL - but, as they did in the other case, they're blaming the feds:
In statement to @FoxNews, California Governor @GavinNewsom office acknowledges that Indian illegal alien truck driver Jashanpreet Singh, charged w/ killing 3 in a DUI crash in Ontario on Tuesday, has a California CDL, but points the finger at the Feds for giving him a work permit. (This work permit would have been approved by the Biden administration, as illegal aliens can apply for work authorization 6 months after making their asylum claims).
He crossed the border illegally in March 2022 and was released into the U.S. by the Biden admin with a future immigration court date.

Everything about both of these deadly crashes involving illegals with CDLs can be traced back to actions taken by Democrat-run sanctuary states as well as the Biden-Harris administration. Newsom can try all he wants to run away from the role he and his state played in these six senseless deaths, but he can't hide. DOT Sec. Sean Duffy and Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier undoubtedly will make sure of it.
