In the aftermath of remarks made during the White House Correspondents' Association dinner by reporter Alex Thompson about Joe Biden's decline and the MSM's failure to do their due diligence on it, many media and Democrat figures (but I repeat myself) are being asked to weigh in with their thoughts.
Among them was former NBC News "Meet the Press" host Chuck Todd, who, as we reported, had a meltdown over Thompson's remarks, denying that the press was at fault for the lack of coverage on the many legitimate questions surrounding Biden's cognitive health as president.
"This is not a media failure. This was a failure of the Democratic Party," Todd proclaimed. "And the virtue signaling that some people have done to try to say that the media missed this story. They didn’t miss this story."
"I just refuse to accept this stupid premise!" Todd went on to whine. "Because it’s a right-wing manufactured right-wing premise in order to stain the media."

Rep. James Clyburn (D-SC) appeared on CNN Monday, where he was asked about Thompson's comments and whether Biden "bears any responsibility" for Donald Trump getting elected "because of that particular reality" of Biden being unfit for another four years in office.
Clyburn's answer was... something else:
Well, we all have some responsibility for this. The fact of the matter is Joe Biden on substance once again, was an outstanding president. You can look at his record, you can look at the records of all presidents, Democratic presidents going -- going back. And you aren't going to find anything that matched his record until you get back to Lyndon Johnson back during his Great Society efforts.
Now, the fact of the matter is, whatever may have or may not have been the decline, I've never worked in the White House, so I was not around Joe Biden enough to tell you anything about his decline.I'll talk to him on the phone a lot. I saw him at events a lot. I saw no more in his declination than I've seen in anybody else's. I'm two years older than Joe Biden. I just have a different style than he has. And so, people all age differently.
And so, for us to sit here and talk about Joe Biden as if we are physicians and can make these kinds of evaluations - a lot of us are interacting with him could not make an evaluation like that. And I still can't.

Also, he says none of us can evaluate Biden's fitness to the presidency because we're not physicians.
Of course, the whole question is absurd, with CNN and WHCA journos committing to the… pic.twitter.com/9uvQuI5eka
Jim Clyburn for years has been one of Biden's closest friends/allies in Washington, D.C., and has been credited as being the central figure in turning Biden's 2020 presidential campaign around to the point he became their party's nominee. So his acting like he hasn't been around Biden that much to notice anything being "off" is simply not credible. At all.
Secondly, Clyburn's statements above are somewhat at odds with remarks he made in July 2024 after Biden's disastrous debate performance, after which many were calling on him to drop out of the race. At the time, Clyburn was a co-chair of Biden's 2024 reelection campaign, and here's what he said in response to questions about Biden's fitness to lead:
"Those of us who are real close watchers of Joe Biden, we do know that he sometimes mangles words and phrases. But all of that is almost natural for people who grew up stuttering, and they do focus a little more," Clyburn said. "And when you focus a little more, you tend to lose the flow."
TODAY's Craig Melvin clarified that what the world has seen from the president in the past few weeks must be more than a stutter, and Clyburn replied that Biden is "still working to overcome the stuttering of his childhood."

So, back then, he was a "close watcher" of Biden. An expert, if you will, somebody you could supposedly trust to know Biden very well. But now? He wasn't around him enough to know one way or another about the decline. Sure.
Lastly, I found Clyburn's statement about people who are not doctors "evaluating" Biden to be quite fascinating considering how often we were treated to round after round of "medical experts" on outlets like CNN and MSNBC who were brought on to assess Donald Trump's mental health (and him walking down a ramp slowly one time and drinking a glass of water with both hands once) during his first term in office.
Yeah, I think the whole "we can't diagnose from afar" ship has sailed, Rep. Clyburn, thanks to Democrats.
I'm just over the lies and the gaslighting. Literally nobody who was close to Biden wants to admit what everybody knew to be true. In essence, the Jim Clyburns of this country are still covering up for him to this day, partly out of loyalty (presumably) and partly because they know how badly admitting their role in the cover-up would make them look.
Though the media will soon move on from this issue, conservatives shouldn't. People need to be reminded every day about what happened, so that hopefully this country will never find itself in another situation where we have a president in office whose condition makes it so that everyone else around them has to make all the decisions.
