I gotta admit that watching the continued exodus of so-called journalists and leftists (but I repeat myself) from Twitter/X to Bluesky has been a real hoot, with the virtue signaling on display from some of these same folks already at levels that are perhaps even higher than what was seen on social media at the height of the pandemic.
As we've documented, Bluesky at its core has become a "safe space" of sorts for Donald Trump/Elon Musk-averse figures on the left and in the media who have stated among other things that the social media platform is intolerable now due to the Twitter/X owner's support for and professional involvement with the President-Elect.
Among the reasons they've given for fleeing is that Musk is not as quick to throttle/ban "offensive" content (read: opinions our supposed intellectual betters don't like), something they say has only gotten - in their view - worse since Trump won a second presidential term on November 5th by defeating Vice President Kamala Harris.

Just before Thanksgiving, Mississippi Free Press journalist Ashton Pittman composed a detailed explanation as to why he was leaving Twitter/X for good and would be on Bluesky permanently after saying for over a year that he would remain at X despite Musk's ownership of it.
In it, he revealed that the final straw for him and "millions" of others was the belief that Musk was tipping the algorithm scales in a way that boosted conservative voices and suppressed others:
Twitter transformed into X, a place where racism, misogyny, homophobia and especially transphobia run rampant under the guise of “free speech,” but where using the word “cisgender” can get your account restricted because Musk (who has described his very-much-alive transgender daughter as “dead”) considers it a slur.
[...]
But what really launched the great exodus was Donald Trump’s victory on Nov. 5. During the campaign, Musk not only openly supported Trump’s campaign, but researchers have reported that X appears to have tweaked its algorithm to turboboost Trump and other MAGA-aligned Republicans. With X’s owner set to be actively involved in Trump’s presidency (leading some to refer to him as Co-President Musk), that meant that one of the largest and most influential social-media platforms in the world would suddenly be owned by a government-aligned billionaire with the ability to control what you see, whether anyone sees what you have to say and to manipulate your emotions.
I have to admit that I might have been more persuaded by his concerns about opposing voices allegedly being suppressed under Musk's rule had Pittman and others who share his opinion been equally outraged upon learning that conservative accounts were deliberately throttled and in some cases banned thanks to the former billionaire owners of Twitter colluding with federal agencies to suppress accounts on issues related to so-called "election misinformation" and questioning the government's handling of the coronavirus pandemic.
It won't shock anyone reading this one bit to know that Pittman is in fact a proponent of suppressing content - as long the content is at odds with his woketivist worldview:
No responsible social media platform should ever platform stochastic terrorists. https://t.co/Bs5AF0mnIw
— Ashton Pittman (@ashtonpittman) December 31, 2023
Pittman, I should also point out, believes that "fascism" and Hitler-like tendencies are alive and well in America, in GOP lawmakers, and also at the judicial level, writing in another piece, for instance, that fascism is "present when courts roll back women’s sexual freedom and bodily autonomy. It’s present when society begins to isolate and strip transgender people of the freedom to be who they are..."
Got it? You're a "stochastic terrorist" and a "fascist" if you believe all life including the unborn is precious, and believe women should feel safe in dressing rooms and bathrooms and not have to compete in women's sports and risk serious injury against those who weren't born women.
The "tolerant and loving" #COEXIST left strikes again. I wish I could say any of this surprised me but it doesn't. Same crap, different day, same bad-faith actors whose penchant for "tolerance" and "diversity" stops whenever the disagreement starts.
Gotcha.
