It never fails that when a conservative public figure, candidate, or elected official holds a presser or sits down for an interview, inevitably they get the "some people say" question from so-called reporters looking for a left-wing angle/narrative to push.
It's gotcha journalism pure and simple, designed to trap the conservative no matter how they answer.
Though Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is one Republican leader here in the United States who is savvy to the media trick and knows how to respond accordingly, unfortunately, he's one of only a few who doesn't let himself fall into these predictable traps.
Simply put, conservatives need to do better at being prepared for the inevitable "some say" claim from reporters, and take notes from those who know how to effectively push back, which brings me to another conservative leader who does well in these situations.
Pierre Poilievre is a longtime member of the Canadian Parliament, is the Opposition Leader, and is also the leader of Canada's Conservative Party. He's been described by some media outlets as "the man who could beat [current Prime Minister Justin] Trudeau" and "the favorite to win the country’s next election," which could be as soon as next year.
Though some of his positions on the issues would not go over well with American conservatives (for example, he's not much of a social conservative, and describes himself as "libertarian-minded"), his views on the free market, capitalism, "woke culture," and freedom from government overreach would fit right in.
So, too, would his views on how to handle rampant left-wing bias in the mainstream press, something he provided a front-row seat to during a recent trip to Kelowna, British Columbia, where the apples are as plentiful as the differing political viewpoints.
Watch below as Poilievre is interviewed by an unidentified reporter who keeps making claims about Poilievre and his critics that he can't back up.
Poilievre, who is calmly eating and crunching on an apple, repeatedly asks him throughout the segment who was making the claims (which revolved around Poilievre supposedly being a right-wing extremist), and what "page" he was allegedly taking out of former President Donald Trump's "playbook" (another statement made by the reporter that he could not substantiate).
As the description on the tweet says, this is master class-type stuff here and should be a blueprint for conservatives to operate off of when interacting with left-wing activists masquerading as members of the press:

I should note for the record that there were many questions he did answer (full interview below), just not the ones that were unsubstantiated:
Keep your eye on this guy, because it sounds like he could become a real game changer for the better for Canada should he be able to wrestle it from Trudeau's weaselly grasp. As always, stay tuned.
