As I noted last month, in spite of the various frenzied left-wing campaigns to cancel him and his program, Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson is leading in the cable news ratings wars. One journalist even described Carlson’s current numbers at the time as being “through the roof.”

Fast forward just a few weeks from that and we find out that not only is Carlson continuing to destroy his competition, but he can now take credit for having the highest-rated quarter of any other in the history of cable news networks.

Forbes.com reports:

Fox News Channel host Tucker Carlson closed out television’s second quarter with one for the record books: his Tucker Carlson Tonight finished the quarter as the highest-rated program in all of cable news for the first time since the show’s launch, delivering an average total audience of 4.331 million viewers. In the process, Carlson broke a record held by his colleague, Sean Hannity, for the highest-rated quarter of any cable news program—ever.

It was a solid quarter for the network, which finished in first place across all of cable television for the first time in the network’s history, beating out all basic cable networks among total viewers and viewers 25-54, the demographic group most valued by national advertisers.

Some of those advertisers announced during the quarter that they would pull advertising from Carlson’s show after remarks the host made about the Black Lives Matter movement, but FNC viewers did not follow suit, instead lifting Tucker Carlson Tonight to a record high, breaking a previous record set in the first quarter of 2020 by FNC’s Hannity.

Carlson has made it a point in his monologues over the last month or so to point out how the push to shut down conservative voices over disagreement was worse than it had ever been. He’s also frequently called out widespread leadership failures on both sides of the aisle, noting that Democrats and not enough Republicans were standing up to the mob rule and general lawlessness we’ve seen from liberal so-called “peaceful protesters” all across the country in the aftermath of the death of George Floyd.

His message is clearly resonating with people who are feeling frustrated and hopeless over the chaos they are seeing taking place in their own back yards. As a result, viewers are now tuning in in record numbers.

Carlson is also the co-founder of the conservative website “The Daily Caller”, but announced last month he was stepping away from his responsibilities at the site so he could focus more on his Fox News show. The intent appears to be to send a message to his detractors that he’s not planning on packing his bags and calling it quits anytime soon.
