In Which Chuck Schumer Mansplains That #MeToo Was a Good Thing but Now It's Time to Believe Joe Biden

If you thought Joe Biden’s answer yesterday when asked by George Stephanopoulos what he would say to people who believed Tara Reade was a garbled mess, wait until you see Chuck Schumer’s.

Before we get to Schumer’s, here’s a quick recap of the question that was asked and how Biden answered (bolded emphasis added within the quotes):

Stephanopoulos: “On these allegations from Tara Reade, I know you deny them, but you’ve also said that women should be believed. So what do you say to Americans who believe Tara Reade and won’t vote for you because of it?”

Biden: “Well, that’s their right. Look here, look, I think women should be believed. They should have an opportunity to have their case and state it just forthrightly, what their case is. Then it’s the responsibility of responsible journalists like you and everyone else to go out and investigate those. The end of the day, the truth is the truth. That’s what should prevail. And the truth is this never happened. This never happened, I assure you. That’s the truth.”

“Women should be believed” except when they accuse Joe Biden or something. You really have to watch the video of him saying it to get the full effect:

Literally on the same day that Biden gave his incoherent answer, the Sen. Minority Leader was doing the same thing:

“Before the #MeToo movement, women were not listened to [by] who they were telling what had happened to them. Since #MeToo, women are listened to,” Schumer said Tuesday when asked about whether he believes Biden accuser Tara Reade.

“Now I’ve heard Joe Biden’s explanation. I think it’s sufficient,” Schumer said. “I think he will be a great candidate. I think he will be a great president. And I think he will help us take back the Senate.”

And that ultimately what this is all about, y’all. In spite of Christine Blasey Ford’s unsubstantiated allegations against Brett Kavanaugh being “extremely credible” to Schumer in 2018, Joe Biden’s mere denials of Tara Reade’s sexual assault allegations against him are “sufficient” enough for Schumer to believe him, because it’s about defeating the Orange Man in November and winning back the Senate.

Watch:

Is it just me, or did Schumer look incredibly uncomfortable giving that statement? Almost like he knew it would make him look 2″ tall?

That Democrats have completely given up their #MeToo/#BelieveAllWomen game this year in response to the allegations against Biden is not surprising. We knew it was coming, because there is not a single “standard” Democrats profess to hold that they will not go back on when it suits their political purposes.

In 2018, America was supposed to “Believe All Women” because Brett Kavanaugh was going to vote to overturn Roe v. Wade or something. In 2020, America is now supposed to only “Believe Some Women” because Democrats want to control all branches of government.

I’m so glad these clowns have been exposed for the frauds they are. It’s just unfortunate that it had to happen at the expense of a woman who, in my view, sounds more credible as time goes on and more information comes to light.
