In the aftermath of controversial tweets posted on Sunday by President Trump about Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s so-called “Squad” Reps. Ayanna Pressley, Ilhan Omar, and Rashida Tlaib, the self-appointed spokeswoman for the group was asked about Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s refusal to label Trump a “racist.”
The Hill reports:
“They have targeted four congresswomen of color who are American citizens with a classic line of white supremacy,” she continued. “And they are trying to pivot, and they are trying to excuse it, and frankly the majority leader is complicit in advancing racism in America if he doesn’t even have the backbone to speak out against most basic, basic line.”

In case you missed it, here’s a partial transcript of how McConnell responded Tuesday when asked if Sunday’s tweets made Trump a “racist”:
We’ve seen the far-left throw accusations of racism at everyone, anyone who disagrees with them on anything including the Speaker of the House. We’ve seen a freshman Democratic Congresswoman use anti-Semitic (INAUDIBLE) and imply people only support Israel because of campaign contributions. The most vile accusations and insults against our nation have become incredibly routine, and we’ve seen back-and-forth over the past few days.

McConnell was wise to mention Ocasio-Cortez’s ridiculous insinuation last week that her own House Speaker was racist in the context of the overall discussion about Trump’s tweets and the Queenie Quartet’s infighting with Pelosi and the Congressional Black Caucus in general. It puts into perspective just how out of hand the phony race-card playing has gotten in recent months.
But what’s even more important to point about about AOC in this battle over Trump’s tweets is that she doesn’t hold herself to her own standards, and no one in the media will call her out on it.
Red State‘s Brandon Morse wrote about this earlier this week after Ocasio-Cortez refused to condemn the firebomb attack on the Washington state ICE facility.
But as you’ll see below, Ocasio-Cortez’s double standards on calling out colleagues for making offensive statements actually goes back much further than just this week.
On Monday, AOC posted a tweet that closely mirrored what she told ABC News on Tuesday – except in this one she accused the entire GOP of being complicit in racism:
Until Republican officials denounce yesterday’s explicitly racist statements (which should be easy!), we sadly have no choice but to assume they condone it.
It is extremely disturbing that the *entire* GOP caucus is silent. Is this their agenda? https://t.co/NXIUiPAPls

Yours truly pointed out that by her own standards, she condoned the routine anti-Semitism of her “Squad” colleagues Tlaib and Omar:
Until Dems like @AOC denounce Rep. @IlhanMN‘s anti-Semitic statements (which should be easy!), we sadly have no choice but to assume they condone it.
It is extremely disturbing House Dems refused to condemn Squad member Omar by name. Is this their agenda? (see how this works?)

Not only has Ocasio-Cortez not condemned Omar’s and Tlaib’s anti-Semitism, she’s actually made excuses for it. In fact, she and “the Squad” played a big role in getting House leaders to back off of mentioning Omar by name in the House resolution from March that broadly condemned “all hate” (rather than anti-Semitism exclusively).
So by her own duplicitous standards, Squad Commander AOC is guilting of condoning and advancing anti-Semitism.
Your rules, honey. Your rules.
