Trump's USPS Drops the Hammer — Blue States Hiding Voter Data Will Get Zero Mail-In Ballots

Postmaster General David Steiner confirmed that, under a new proposed rule, the U.S. Postal Service will deliver zero mail-in ballots to states that refuse to turn over their absentee voter data lists.

Such a commitment would be a major boost for election integrity.

“If a state refuses to turn their absentee voter list over to the federal government, will the Postal Service still mail their ballots under this … rule?” Sen. Gary Peters (D-MI) asked during a Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee hearing on Wednesday.

“Under our proposed regulation, no,” Steiner explained.

Steiner’s straightforward “no” leaves little room for ambiguity.

The move, which stems from an executive order signed by President Trump in March, requires states to provide names, addresses, and ballot details at least 60 days before federal elections so that only verified ballots reach eligible voters.

Steiner was pressed further on the logic behind the requirement for the data.

“I would think that states would want the information to ensure that the ballots that they think they’re sending out are the ballots that are actually getting sent out,” he said.

That would be common sense. But common sense also dictates that it's fairly obvious Democrats have no interest in securing ballots. Let's be real here.

As you might expect, such a safeguard that ensures election integrity has blue-state Democrats crying “authoritarian” and already threatening lawsuits.

Sen. Elissa Slotkin (D-MI) blasted the proposed rule as an overreach by the President, claiming it improperly inserts the federal government into election administration. She begged Steiner to kill the plan.

“Please push back on being a pawn in this authoritarian playbook,” she implored. “The Postal Service is one of the most important institutions in our country. Don’t taint it with the obsession of this one man.”

In Slotkin’s world, asking states to verify who’s receiving mail-in ballots is authoritarianism. Nothing screams “dictatorship” quite like making sure dead people and illegals don’t get ballots.

As RedState's Ben Smith reported earlier this month, Democrats and left-wing activist groups wasted no time announcing plans to sue over the USPS mail-in ballot verification plan, with Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) leading the charge by calling the rule a “malicious attempt” to suppress votes.

Schumer is, of course, engaging in a malicious attempt to taint American elections by any means necessary.

"Mail-in voting is safe and secure — period," he laughably claimed, while offering no explanation for how simply verifying that ballots are sent to and returned from eligible voters somehow constitutes voter suppression. Another rube.

"The entire Trump Administration will continue lawfully enacting the agenda President Trump was elected to enact — which includes the safety and security of American elections," the White House replied.

They're showing no signs that they intend to abandon their efforts. Nor should they.

Editor’s Note: The 2026 Midterms will determine the fate of President Trump’s America First agenda. Republicans must maintain control of both chambers of Congress.
