Kai Madison Trump, the granddaughter of President-elect Donald Trump, is feeling some "butterflies" as Inauguration Day approaches. The nerves are precisely what you'd expect from a teenager.
The 17-year-old posted a video explaining that she was *gasp* skipping school. But for a very good, if not unique, reason.
"I got out of school early because I've got to get ready for the inauguration," she told viewers. "And I am not prepared."
Kai spends the afternoon playing a little golf - she announced a commitment to play golf at the University of Miami back in August - then heads to the mall to do a little shopping. Afterward, she frets about not having a dress for Inauguration Day.
"I'm not nervous, I'm just excited," she explained. "I have kind of like the butterflies in my stomach."
And she's feeling "a little stressed" about not having an outfit for her grandfather's big day.

Considering the President-elect has been subject to two assassination attempts over the summer, there might be some more pressing concerns come January 20th. But it's neat to see the vantage point of a historic moment in American history through the eyes of the young.
Maybe we can't relate to the nerves involved in dressing for an Inaugural Ball. What Kai says later in her social media video is extremely relatable to every American, however. It essentially equates to "Thank God Trump won."
Kai Trump talks about the excitement of the family being back in the White House and hints that she might give viewers a tour. Then, the message gets very real.
"I mean, I'm really happy he won obviously and like, I think for America and I think for our family, I think it's just so important that he won," she said.
"I think these next four years (are) going to be the best four years America has ever had in a very long time," she added. "I'm so happy for him."
Kai Trump, during her speech at the Republican National Convention (RNC) this past summer, mentioned how her grandpa always keeps up to date on her golf game and how he likes to play mind games if they’re not on the same team.
“He calls me during the middle of the school day to ask how my golf game is going, and tells me all about his, but then I have to remind him that I’m in school and I’ll have to call him back later,” she said.
“When we play golf together, if I’m not on his team, he’ll try to get inside of my head," Kai added before delivering this zinger that brought down the house.
"But I have to remind him I'm a Trump, too."

Kai, like her grandfather, has some skills on the links. She won the ladies' club championship at her grandfather’s golf course in Palm Beach, Florida, earlier this year.
She posted a video of her and the 47th President of the United States playing a round, which she captioned, “Sundays with Grandpa.”
Kai will play collegiate golf with the Miami Hurricanes in 2026.
In a video announcing her verbal commitment, she said, "I would like to thank my Grandpa for giving me access to great courses and tremendous support."
All that, and he's now going to deliver the best four years America has ever seen? That's a hell of a guy to have as your grandpa.
