President Trump recently announced that he won’t sign any bills until the SAVE America Act is passed, and I think this may be one of the most important positions he’s taken so far in his presidency.
While critics claim it “suppresses voters,” nothing could be further from the truth. Those criticizing the SAVE America Act are the ones who both benefit from and cheer for fraudulent voting, and they’re simply worried their ability to steal elections will be eliminated.
That’s why we’ve endured unchecked illegal immigration over the last several years under the Biden administration. In an effort to illegally import unlimited Democrat voters, former President Biden not only allowed, but even encouraged and funded record illegal immigration from countless third-world countries.
I don’t think it would be even slightly hyperbolic to call this a soft coup.

The SAVE America Act, also known as the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act, was designed specifically to eliminate this by properly securing our elections to ensure only legitimate American citizens are voting in our elections — a perfectly reasonable position in my opinion.
But when we push for this kind of common sense regulation — something literally every other country already does — we’re labeled by the left as racist and xenophobic. This is unsurprising, considering it’s the standard leftist approach to any pushback on their policies, but if we want to ensure free and fair elections in America, we have to ignore their false accusations and pass this law immediately.
And it’s worth noting that the left doesn’t actually believe anything they’re claiming. When they’re in power, they insist that America has the most secure elections in the world and that there’s no way to steal an election. They even went as far as pressuring social media platforms to censor and ban users who questioned the previous election results. They labeled these questions as “misinformation” and labeled the citizens who posed them as “election deniers.”
But the second that a conservative wins an election, suddenly our elections are no longer secure, and the claims that “Republicans cheated” start to flow again. We saw this most recently following Jasmine Crockett’s massive primary loss in Texas, and we saw it following President Trump’s win in 2024, but a simple Google search will turn up dozens if not hundreds of similar examples.
This highlights the fact that their claims are completely disingenuous.
The reality is that our elections today are simply not secure. Federal law already requires that voters in national elections be U.S. citizens, but there’s currently no federal requirement to provide documentation. While a government ID is required to vote in some states, that’s not the case everywhere.
For example, in California, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Pennsylvania, and Vermont, voters are not required to show any ID at all. And even in the states where ID is required, there is no mechanism to ensure that only U.S. citizens are voting. And we’ve all seen the numerous cases where illegal immigrants were provided with official government IDs, and in some cases, even commercial driver's licenses, so we know illegals have the ability to easily vote illegally.
In my opinion, this situation is insane.
Leftists have mounted numerous criticisms of the SAVE America Act, including that it’s somehow “racist” and that it “marginalizes women.”
These claims are completely unfounded.
First of all, there’s nothing racist about only allowing American citizens to vote in American elections. That’s how literally every other country conducts its elections.
The rebuttal I most commonly hear to that from Democrats is that “Minorities don’t know how to get an ID, so they won’t be able to vote,” which is actually racist. Look, I know a lot of people of all races, and every single one of them has somehow figured out how to get an ID. The truth is that an ID is required to purchase alcohol, pharmaceutical products, and tobacco, it’s required to apply for any government program and to operate a motor vehicle, and it’s required to get on an airline.
It’s virtually impossible to participate in society without a government ID.
As for “marginalizing women,” well, this is just another unfounded claim.
When a woman goes through the process of changing her last name after getting married, she must provide the necessary documentation to do so. At that point, she'll receive a new ID, and today, that means the enhanced Real ID, which was signed into law in 2005 for added security. This ID is considered a valid form of identification for voting under the SAVE America Act, and for the few people who still, for whatever reason, don’t have this version, supporting documentation, including a birth certificate, U.S. passport, and naturalization paperwork, can be used as identification.
In other words, it’s faux outrage about nothing.
The bottom line is this: We need to pass the SAVE America Act to secure our elections and ensure that only American citizens are voting. If we fail to do this, the future of America will be in peril, driven by fraudulent voters who have been empowered by Democrats all across the country.
