Former Congressman Ron Paul has joined the advisory team of Lineage, a Texas-based artificial intelligence company whose first product, Bishop, is designed specifically for families, small business owners, and local organizations. The move places one of the right’s longest-standing advocates of individual liberty and limited power behind a tool that aims to put practical AI in the hands of everyday Americans rather than large enterprises.
Lineage CEO Eric Beach has described Bishop as being “built for the people who usually get left behind when a major technological shift hits: the family, the small business owner, the contractor, the coach, the parish, the local operator, the entrepreneur trying to compete without a giant staff behind him.” In an interview with Entrepreneur, Beach explained that the AI is designed to help with email, scheduling, research, education, planning, errands, and business tasks. Unlike most tools that stop at an answer or draft, he said Bishop “pairs the advisor with an execution layer,” so it can “send the email, book the appointment, build the week’s schedule, handle the errand and carry the task through to completion.”
Paul’s decision to advise the company comes after more than a decade of focusing on education, commentary and institutional work outside elective office. After leaving Congress and as his son, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), became a more prominent national figure, the elder Paul regularly commented on public policy, maintained the Ron Paul Institute for Peace and Prosperity, and kept publishing columns that stress non-intervention abroad, sound money, civil liberties and skepticism of concentrated power. At age 90, he remains active, recently hosting his son on his show Liberty Report and warning about Federal Reserve policies fueling speculative bubbles, including in artificial intelligence.

Artificial intelligence and technology figures have gained substantial influence within the political right in recent years. Names most often associated with that rise include Elon Musk, Peter Thiel, JD Vance and others tied to large-scale tech platforms, big business or accelerated AI development. Ron Paul has not been part of that particular constellation. His long record centers on decentralizing power, protecting the middle class and small operators from both government and corporate concentration, and treating technology as a tool that should expand individual capability rather than enlarge institutional control.
Beach has said Paul’s involvement “fits the mission perfectly,” noting that the former congressman “has spent his life warning about concentrated power: in government, money, institutions and corporate systems.” In the Entrepreneur interview, Beach added that Paul “brings credibility, independence and a very clear philosophy: Liberty depends on keeping power in the hands of individuals. That is exactly what we are trying to do with Bishop.” The association underscores Lineage’s mission and places a longtime critic of concentrated power behind a product positioned for the people who typically have the least say in how new technology is developed and used.
