Bullet Dodged: West Virginia Republicans Pass on Don Blankenship

Republican primary voters in West Virginia gave President Trump and “cocaine Mitch” McConnell what they wanted on Tuesday and voted against controversial coal baron Don Blankenship.

Blankenship had Republicans worried as internal polling just days before the primary had Blankenship ahead of the other Republican candidates, W.V. Attorney General Patrick Morrissey and Congressman Evan Jenkins.

Blankenship ultimately placed third behind both men.
