Gross: Mamdani Mocks New Yorkers With Post About Dropping New Tax on Them

The socialists are feeling their oats right now.

They think they are on the rise in the face of a weak Democratic Party that seems largely okay with being eaten alive, and already has been largely taken over by radicals.

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani — the guy with the perpetual smirk — is one piece of evidence of this trend. He apparently thought he could dictate foreign policy and get Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arrested. Then when he found out he doesn't have that kind of power, he had to resort to encouraging leftists to protest.

That has now ticked off the local police, who know the chaos and violence that comes with leftist protests. Some suggested that if Mamdani were such a fan of the First Amendment, maybe they should have a protest at Gracie Mansion to let him know their displeasure.

Great job ticking off a lot of people.

However, he wasn't quite done yet. People were already fleeing New York because of the issues and the expense.

Mamdani posted on Thursday, taunting some New Yorkers about a new tax he was going to hit them with.

So not only is he dropping more taxes on people, but he's mocking the people in the process.

CNBC said experts estimate it will double property taxes for many people, and it actually applies to second homes valued at $1 million or more. So they're hitting homes not just at $5 million.

The results, of course, will be bad.

Consequences of this policy:

- More money leaves your state
- More jobs leave your state
- No incentive for the wealthy to buy a property in NYC
- Property value drops
- More construction workers lose jobs
- Realtors lose income.

The rich will flee, New York will lose that money, along with any jobs/other businesses that person was bringing to the area.

Then what do the socialists do after they've grabbed all that money from the "rich"? It doesn't take a rocket scientist to be able to look at what has happened in the past elsewhere — that who the government then grabs money from becomes more expansive.

Meanwhile, there's that leftist nonsense about "fair share." The rich pay a ton of taxes, while many at the lower end of the scale don't. Is that "fair share"? What does that even mean?

Plus, New Yorkers are already paying a tremendous amount in taxes, yet it's still not enough? Who wants to bet that even when they grab this money, they still won't deal with the homeless in the parks? That's really the issue with such things and the greater issue with leftists: They want your money, but they also don't want to do the things needed to keep you safe.
