The anti-ICE crew created a lot of chaos outside the Newark, NJ, Delaney Hall ICE facility on Friday.
Local police scaled back their presence, and that emboldened the activists.
They were blocking vehicles, and not just trying to stop the officers, but attacking the vehicles of the poor civilian staffers as well. They told one person, "You're Spanish, you should be ashamed of yourself."

You can see another guy in a keffiyeh jumping on top of a car, here in an Instagram post. They found out that wasn't a smart idea. You can see the staffers in blue shirts losing patience with these characters, and taking down at least one of them.
But it got worse in the evening, as the horde was bigger, surrounding, banging on, and even kicking the cars. At least one person was hit in the chaos.

Agitators could be heard shouting, "Let's go coward," "F--- you," "Are you proud of yourself a------" and "quit your f------ job."
An agent directly addressed one agitator, saying, "What did you say? You're going to kill me?" before appearing to detain the person.
That's not protesting, that's harassing and intimidating the workers.
At least two people were arrested on the day, and they were both from out of state. One, from Seattle, Washington, was arrested by the Newark Police Department and charged with three counts of criminal mischief for smashing the windows of a car. Another, from Arizona, was arrested by Homeland Security (DHS) for allegedly assaulting an ICE officer.
But it should have been a lot more than just two. And this is what happens when you remove the police presence; the agitators get out of hand again.
Newark Mayor Ras Baraka said on Thursday:
."It is not the responsibility of the Newark Police Division to secure a private facility. We have made clear to the GEO Group, who has its own private security firm, that securing their facility is their responsibility, not the City’s. Our intention was never to protect Delaney Hall or HSI but to bring calm."
No, it's your responsibility to make sure that the citizens in your city are kept safe.
The Newark police finally had to show up anyway to help, and the Department of Homeland Security had a message to the anti-ICE crew: you are not going to be able to stop us. "You will not slow us down."
Our message to rioters is clear: you will NOT slow us down. https://t.co/vVYwGLj6yz
