Ah, Democrats.
What was it that Ronald Reagan used to say about them?
"The trouble with our liberal friends is not that they are ignorant; it's just that they know so much that isn't so."
Democrat New York Governor Kathy Hochul provided a golden example of that on Wednesday.
President Donald Trump announced that he might be going to one of the New York Knicks' NBA Finals games because he was a lifelong fan. A reporter asked Hochul about President Trump's comment. Hochul apparently decided she was going to throw shade at Trump. But it did not go well for her.
🚨 Gov. Hochul tries to own Trump on Knicks fandom… and flops hard:

“I’d ask him to name the starting lineup of the 1993 Championship team”
Knicks last won a title in 1973. There was no 1993 championship.
Trump’s been a lifelong Knicks fan. Hochul is a fraud. pic.twitter.com/G2zTbvhTR1
"I'd ask him to name the starting lineup from the 1993 Championship team and see how he does," she said.
Except that the Knicks didn't win the championship in 1993, the Chicago Bulls did. The Knicks last won in 1973, which a long-time fan would know, presumably.
So instead of hitting Trump with her comment, Hochul managed to have it boomerang. She made herself look silly and ignorant about the Knicks. She doesn't have to be a fan, but then, she also doesn't need to knock others. She looks like an ignorant hypocrite.
Her Press Office X account tried to clean up after her, claiming she was trying to "bait" Trump and play "4D chess."
She was baiting Trump into pretending that team won the finals.

A classic 4D chess move. https://t.co/yTB4aHjE7C
Oh, please. That was even dumber than her original comment. They're trying far too hard to cover for her, but it isn't working.
People weren't buying it.

Such a stupid thing to dispute whether President Trump is a lifelong Knicks fan when the internet is LOADED UP with pics of him sitting courtside at MSG for decades.

….As for Hochul, safe bet she can’t even name the starting lineup of the CURRENT Knicks team without help. https://t.co/kgwN04QiFt
Trump then confirmed he would likely be in attendance at one of the games, saying he'd been invited and they have some great players.
.@POTUS says he "was going to go" to Game 5 at Madison Square Garden but the @nyknicks "closed it out very quickly" in a sweep.

"What a team... they have some great players. I think I'll be going to one of the [Finals] games. I was invited by numerous people." pic.twitter.com/u2slih16Td
The White House Deputy War Room director, Bobby Levy, also shared the receipts about how long Trump had been a fan, posting a video of Trump going to a Finals game in 1994.
While the Knicks may not have won in 1993 like Kathy claims…

President @realDonaldTrump was at the 1994 NBA Finals watching the Knicks take on the Rockets: https://t.co/MdSLzKGDtS pic.twitter.com/yS0BqL96R9
So I think that's officially game to Trump, with nothing but net.
