Trump Decimates Reporter Over Ridiculous Question About Reflecting Pool Cleanup

I think it's fair to say that President Donald Trump can be blunt, and he doesn't suffer silly questions without calling them out as such.

He did exactly that on Thursday when he went out to inspect the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, which he has been having cleaned up.

One of the reporters present then asked him about Iran and why he was focused on such a project. If she thought that was some kind of "gotcha question," it didn't work out very well for her.

"You know why? I want to keep our country beautiful and safe. Beautiful also," Trump replied.

He described how it had been "disgusting," and that maybe she didn't see the dirt, but he did. he explained how the guys who cleaned out the pool had to remove about "11 or 12 truckloads of garbage" out of it.

"That's not what our country is about. Our country is about beauty, cleanliness, safety, great people, not a filthy capital." He then ripped into the reporter for the "stupid question," saying she was from "fake news ABC."

"We're fixing up the reflecting pond to the Lincoln Memorial, the Washington Monument, and you say, 'Why are you fixing it up?'" Trump asserted.

"Because you can understand dirt maybe better than I can, but I don't allow it."

"Beauty made our country, people made our country great," he declared. "A question like that is a disgrace to our country."

It is a dumb question. Why do you clean up filth when you see it? If you don't know the answer to that, that's a problem. And indeed, that's been the problem in D.C. and other Democratic cities for years. The real question is, why wasn't the media asking Democratic leaders why they weren't cleaning it up before? Cleaning something up is now something the liberal media wants to make an issue? It's a ridiculous take.

It's also very clear that he's working on Iran and other issues he needs to work on. Pro tip? He's not Joe Biden; he can do more than one thing at a time.

Trump, being Trump, also took the time to recognize the work of the folks who had been cleaning up the pool. He shook each person's hand and gave them a challenge coin.

Now that's the presidential motorcade β€” how clean is that?

It's all going to be in great shape for our 250th birthday.
