Remember how Iran denied that any discussions were going on with the United States after President Donald Trump revealed they were happening?

Some in the liberal media and among the Democrats immediately lined up, saying they believed Iran, despite Iran's history of lying and terrorism. Oh, and you know, killing Americans.

But even while the Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi denied talks, he confirmed them, as we reported.

There are no talks with the U.S., which is sending messages through different mediators. The exchange of messages via mediators does not mean negotiation with the U.S.

Yes, that's exactly what it means. In case it was unclear, the Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar confirmed it.

There has been unnecessary speculation in the media regarding peace talks to end ongoing conflict in the Middle East. In reality, US-Iran indirect talks are taking place through messages being relayed by Pakistan. In this context, the United States has shared 15 points, being deliberated upon by Iran.

Brotherly countries of Turkiye and Egypt, among others, are also extending their support to this initiative.

Pakistan remains fully committed to promoting peace and continues to make every effort to ensure stability in the region and beyond.

Dialogue and Diplomacy is the only way forward!

Trump confirmed they "are negotiating, by the way, and they want to make a deal so badly, but they're afraid to say it because they will be killed by their own people. They're also afraid they'll be killed by us." But he did mention that the U.S. had been given an "oily gift" of letting a slew of oil tankers through the Strait in the process of the negotiations. That would both be a sign of goodwill and a confirmation that the folks he is talking to are, in fact, the ones in power.

As to who is involved in the negotiations, one is clearly Araghchi, since the Pakistani minister tags him in his tweet. But the other one's name is allegedly one we reported before, Mohammad Ghalibaf, the Parliament Speaker.

Report: Here's the Leader Trump Is Talking With - It's Not 'Cardboard Mojtaba'

The Wall Street Journal reported that these two had been temporarily given a reprieve for four or five days from being eliminated because they were involved in the negotiations. Reuters claimed that a Pakistani source told them the Israelis had coordinates on them both, but held off for that reason. You might understand why that might lend to the desire of those Iranian leaders to make a deal, because if they don't, that very temporary reprieve goes away. Israel and the U.S. have shown they are very accurate in leader takedowns.
