Hot Takes: The Reactions to Barack Obama's Latest Post About His Ugly Library Are Pure Gold

We've written before about Barack Obama's presidential center in Chicago.

I wasn't kind with my headline, "The Obama Library Is Ugly For a Reason." Not only did it look like a Soviet-style dystopian prison, but then they added words to the outside and made things worse, as my colleague Bob Hoge observed. It's not just ugly visually; it's also ugly because Obama left such a bad and divisive legacy.

If we hadn't heard enough from him, he wants to assault our eyes with his words. Imagine the narcissism it takes to want to put your words on the outside of the building. He claims he wants to honor the sacrifices of the civil rights leaders who marched in Selma with words from one of his speeches about the march. But then you could make it about the marchers, and not about yourself.

Obama Center Gets Even Uglier As Massive Mind-Numbing Text Display Goes Up

Now, Obama has just posted more about the building, along with announcing the opening day will be in June.

He thanked the people of Chicago, without mentioning the people who were unhappy with the building. "Hope is coming home," he declared. I thought hope lived in Hawaii now, in a multimillion-dollar home on the beach, although he has kept a residence he doesn't live in, in Chicago. Hope has long since left Chicago.

The library disturbed some of the locals, precipitated a lawsuit, and ran millions of dollars over what it was supposed to cost. In other words, perfect symbolism for Obama.

Obama can open a presidential center to try to spin his legacy and indoctrinate activists to promote liberal narratives there, but he can't change what a failure his presidency was. His Iran policy is the reason the mullahs were left to continue their terrorism, and President Donald Trump is now having to clean up after him.

Then, too, we can't forget things like the mess Obama left behind in Libya or the lie he sold us about healthcare and keeping our plans. The worst thing, though, was the division that he sowed and the role he played in the Russia collusion hoax. That divided the country in ways we're still suffering.

All that ugliness can't help but rear its ugly head in his building. So laugh and mock away because he deserves every bit of it.
