As we reported, they held a Black History Month reception at the White House on Wednesday, and they had a lot of interesting moments.

President Donald Trump outlined some of the positive things that had been going on, including policies that helped produce more jobs, more people returning to the workforce, and increased wages. One business owner even outlined how Trump's policies helped her to hire more employees and even open a second location. Not just talk, but positive actions.

But perhaps the most touching moment was from Forlesia Cook, a grandmother and lifelong resident of Washington, D.C. Cook's grandson was murdered in D.C. in 2017. She testified before Congress in 2025 about how his case was not properly addressed, and some of the struggles her family had to go through, but no one seemed to care or listen. This is so sad.

But, finally, she said, someone was addressing the issues in D.C. Someone was hearing her and everyone else about the problems of crime in D.C., and that was President Donald Trump. Trump invited her to speak at the event on Wednesday, and she didn't hold back with her enthusiasm for how things had changed for the better under Trump. She asked for and got a big hug from him.

"I like her!" Trump said enthusiastically. We've seen this from Trump before, how he has such sympathy for families who have gone through so much, like the Angel Moms whose children have been killed by illegal aliens or the Gold Star families whose children were killed in Afghanistan.

"I like him!" Cook replied. "One thing I like about him, he keeps it real, just like Grandma."

"I appreciate that because I can trust him, because he tells exactly what he feels and thinks. Thank God for this president!"

She explained that she has not been heard for so long. "Nobody heard me, Democrats!" she said pointedly. It was the Trump people who actually listened to her, "Until his people, this Republican...sent people to interview me in my home."

Cook spoke about how she then testified to toughen punishment for crimes in D.C.

"If you take a life, you do life!...If you do a harsh crime, you do harsh time! It's just that simple! And we need National Guard, which we did years ago! He brought it on! I love him. I don't want to hear nothing you gotta say about that racist stuff."

Trump brought big change, and people like Cook get it, even if all the liberal media don't.

Cook even took down the media, anticipating the attack, "And don't be looking at me on the news, hating on me because I'm standing up for somebody that deserves to be stood up for! Get off the man's back! Let him do his job, he's doing the right thing! Back up off him. And Grandma said it!"

Now that's a speech.

Even Trump realized he couldn't say anything to follow that immediately, and just let everyone cheer.
