Secretary of State Marco Rubio has certainly proven to be one of President Donald Trump's best Cabinet picks.

He's shown us what you can really do in that position to help advance the interests of the United States in the world. What a contrast between him and someone like former Secretary of State under Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton.

We reported on the amazing remarks Rubio gave at the Munich Security Conference about the importance of preserving Western civilization.

It was so impressive that even Democrat podcaster Dan Turrentine took note of it, warning Democrats about the strength of the Republican bench.

Rubio has ruled out making a 2028 presidential run if Vice President JD Vance runs.

Rubio's just had another striking moment during his time in Europe. He was doing a press briefing with the Prime Minister of Slovakia, Robert Fico, in Bratislava. Rubio smoked a reporter and called him out for asking a question, trying to stoke division over Venezuela.

"You asked him a question in order to see if, like, you can get him against us," Rubio observed. He didn't just answer the question, but he called out the motive behind it, and wasn't having it.

"A lot of countries didn't like what we did in Venezuela! That's okay. That was in our national interest. I'm sure there's something he'll do one day that we don't like, and we'll say, 'Hey, we didn't like you did this.' So what? That doesn't mean we're not going to be friends, partners, or we're not going to be able to cooperate."

Rubio pointed out it was successful, and what's more, "It was necessary, because the guy was a narco terrorist."

"I can tell you Venezuela is much better off than it was six weeks ago," he concluded, although he acknowledged that there was more to do.

Rubio is right. Our interests in the hemisphere are much more secure, not to mention the interests of those who wish us ill took a severe hit with this move.

That's what we need in a Secretary of State, someone who puts the interests of the United States first and isn't afraid to say it clearly.
