We've now entered the 250th year of our nation's founding, and there are going to be celebrations planned throughout the year.
The Washington Monument kicked it off on New Year's Eve, with projections on the monument. They will run from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. through Jan. 5.
Beginning tonight through January 5, a narrative projection will illuminate the Washington Monument every hour on the hour from 7pm-11:30pm. It is the opening of a year-long series of events celebrating 250 years of American independence. Learn more at https://t.co/Ooj2t6PII3 pic.twitter.com/W82XHilzkC

Narrated videos that will appear on the monument will focus on discovery, the American Revolution and independence, Western expansion, the Industrial Revolution and the modern times and future for the U.S.
The Freedom 250 organization termed it the "world’s tallest birthday candle."
This is a pretty cool sample of what they are showing. If you missed fireworks on New Year's Eve, you have a little here.

Other events Freedom 250 will hold to remember America’s birthday include a Great American State Fair in June and a parade of ships from more than 30 countries in New York Harbor for the Fourth of July.
I often think about how the Left always seems to be attacking America for what it perceives as its deficiencies.
Joe Biden used to say in his one stock speech that he delivered innumerable times that America was an “idea” that the country has “never lived up to.”
That's a twisted perception. It's times like these when that comes into very sharp view as we celebrate what America not only means to us, but what it has meant to the world, and why it is so important to preserve it. We have been a light for freedom, that shining city on the hill. We are the last, best hope on Earth, and we should not be shy about acknowledging that. If we fail, there is no one else behind us to hold things up, which is why it is so important to hold onto what we have made.
As we enter our birthday year, Democrats have gone to the far left. We can see that in things like the shocking statements New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani made during his inaugural remarks: "We will replace the frigidity of rugged individualism with the warmth of collectivism."
That's a complete rejection of our history and an embrace of an ideology that has resulted in the deaths of millions.

That's a sharp contrast to all the things that have made us great, and that we must do all in our power to stand against.
Here's "The Illumination of America," which they will be showing at the Monument over the next few days. None of this was made with "the warmth of collectivism."
