One of the main reasons the Democrats caused the government shutdown was purportedly because they were trying to get an extension of the Obamacare COVID subsidies that Democrats had set to expire at the end of the year. That had nothing to do with the continuing resolution to keep the government open, but they thought they could hold the American people hostage with the shutdown to get what they wanted.
However, the effort exposed what a mess Obamacare is and how it is not, in fact, "affordable care" when it has to be propped up by subsidies. Republicans want to resolve the whole mess, while Democrats want to keep shoveling taxpayers' money at the problem.
So when House Minority Leader, Democrat Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (NY-8) appeared on CNBC with Squawk Box host Becky Quick, she tried to ask him about what the Democrats were going to do. He wanted to go back to attack talking points about what Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) offered during the "Trump-Republican shutdown." Quick wasn't letting that go, telling him they were talking about what was going on now.

Jeffries said he was "providing an answer in order to provide context." That's when Quick broke out one heck of an epic eye roll that perfectly describes the Democrat Party.

She also cooked him on his "context."
"It's important context to make me realize that I don't think you want to get a deal done. I think this is something where you'd like to see the rates go higher and allow the Republicans to hang themselves with that."
That made Jeffries flip out, "That's absolutely a ridiculous assertion. Shame on you for saying that! It’s not a partisan issue for us!" Sounds like she might have nailed him with that one, by the way he reacted. As she said, the Republicans aren't going to agree to continue the nonsense for three more years, and they shouldn't. It's long overdue for the mess that was completely created by the Democrats to be finally cleaned up.
Quick previously crushed Jeffries when he was trying to push ridiculous talking points during the government shutdown. She pointed out how the Democrats were responsible for the expiration of the subsidies.

Jeffries should know by now he's not going to be able to go on that show and get by with just waving his arms and pushing talking points. But he's still getting embarrassed.
Between him and Schumer, the Democratic leadership is thoroughly incompetent.
