Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) seems to be the only Democrat who has consistently displayed some sense when it comes to the question of the Schumer Shutdown. He's voted with the Republicans each time the vote has come up in the Senate to open up the government
Now, it's clear he's losing patience with the members of his party as the question of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) not being funded starts to hit hard. During an interview with CNN's Manu Raju, Fetterman let loose on his colleagues with a blistering attack. He said his wife helps with a program that distributes free food, and the lines were already long, and now people would be out of SNAP funds on Saturday.
Sen. Fetterman: “I'm apologizing that, that we can't even get our shit together and just open up our government.”

On Schumer’s claim that things are better every day for Ds: “Ask the hungry people on Saturday…This is not some shitty game show about who's winning or whatever.” pic.twitter.com/3ShdItR8UQ
"And I don't have an explanation for them," Fetterman told Raju. He continued:
"All I can say is I'm sorry. It's an absolute failure, what occurred here for the last month. And now things are really going to land. Imagine being a parent with a couple of kids, and how you’re going to fill their refrigerator and pack their lunches and get on with their lives when the things that they’ve depended on now is gone, because we can’t even agree to just open things up. Democrats, we're not allowed just to open things up, then our party has bigger problems than I thought we might have already. It's like, that's not controversial - pay everybody! "
Fetterman said he was apologizing to everyone that "we can't even get our s*** together and just open up our government."
Raju asked him about the remark from Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) that every day of the shutdown got better politically for the Democrats. Fetterman absolutely leveled Schumer, "Well, ask the hungry people on Saturday."
"Americans are not leverage," Fetterman declared, referencing comments from Democrats using that term. "This is not some shitty game show about who's winning or whatever. It's just like — we have to be better than this. And just open this up.”
But this is where the Democrats are, and they wonder why they have lost the workers and so much of their base. It's because they are taking positions that make no sense for the American people.
Democrats point to a SNAP contingency fund. But that's supposed to be for emergencies, and Democrats wanting their political agenda isn't an "emergency" — that's like Joe Biden filching from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to help the Democrats' political position going into the 2022 midterms. And then what do you do when the contingency fund is emptied?
It's also interesting that Raju/CNN interviewed Fetterman — they had to know that he's ticked off on the matter. Even CNN is highlighting what a problem the Democrats are creating here.
Editor’s Note: The Schumer Shutdown is here. Rather than put the American people first, Chuck Schumer and the radical Democrats forced a government shutdown for healthcare for illegals. They own this.
