Russ Vought has been nominated for head of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). 

After Joe Biden inflation and overspending, it's incredibly important to have someone in there who knows something about spending. We've seen President Donald Trump is serious about cleaning things up with the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). But having a good person at the head of OMB is also vital. Vought had previously been head of OMB in the first Trump term, so it's hard for the Democrats to argue that he isn't qualified. 

His hearing before the Senate Committee on Budget was Wednesday. New Sen. Bernie Moreno. (R-OH) laid out the contrast with the insane actions of the Biden administration and how they hurt working-class Americans. 

Looks like Moreno is going to be a great addition as well. 

Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) said he didn't think there was anyone who knew more about the budget than Vought, so he was thrilled that Trump nominated him. He laid out how, while our population had increased by two percent, our spending had increased by 55 percent. He explained that (Biden being Biden) if there was life on Mars, Biden would somehow figure out how to send money there. 

Vought agreed that wasn't a sustainable approach and it creates major problems for the country. That's what happened under Biden.

Kennedy said that Vought was going to be attacked if he tried to bring sense to the budget in that classic comedic way that Kennedy has.

That had everyone behind him bursting out laughing. Kennedy may just be one of the funniest folks ever in the Senate. But as with most of what he says, the humor brings out the larger point of how ridiculous much of Washington has been on the budget and how uncommon common sense is when it comes to budgeting. And boy, how much we need it after four years of Joe Biden. Hopefully, with Vought and DOGE, sanity will now reign, and real change will come.
