Remember that guy Hunter Biden referred to as "the f**king spy chief of China" on a recording in 2018? 

That guy was Dr. Patrick Ho, although it's not clear exactly what his role with China was. 

According to Ho, CEFC paid Hunter Biden a million dollars to act as his attorney back in 2017. 

But now according to a new report, Ho just sent a legal letter to Hunter threatening to sue him if he doesn't give the money back, because Ho says he didn't get any legal work for the money. 

Ho sent a legal letter to Hunter last week requesting that their attorney-client agreement be terminated immediately and threatening legal action unless he receives a detailed list of services provided by Hunter and reimbursement for the unused funds, as laid out in the 2017 contract. 

Ho’s letter, sent by Hong Kong law firm Huen & Partners to Hunter’s attorney Abbe Lowell in Washington, DC, set a deadline of seven days for the repayment of any remaining funds.

“Patrick says he paid him, and that Hunter never did anything for him,” a friend of Ho’s told The Post, “and that according to the contract the money should be reimbursed.”

So it seems like it ended up like so many things with the Bidens were involved in -- they got a lot of money but somehow there wasn't any real business done or anything created. 

The money was wired from CEFC in China to CEFC’s Hong Kong HSBC account to the bank account of Hudson West III (HWIII), the firm Hunter co-owned with CEFC on Nov. 2, 2017. Then finally it ended up in the account of Hunter’s private firm, Owasco. 

Ho was then arrested on Nov. 18, 2017. He was convicted of bribery and money laundering with African politicians – and ultimately offered them bribes to help CEFC. 

According to Ho, Hunter, 54, pocketed the $1 million but did no legal work for him, other than call another attorney, Edward Kim, and turn up half an hour late for a meeting with Ho and Kim at the Manhattan Correctional Center the morning after Ho’s arrest. 

Hunter didn’t visit Ho, 74, even once in jail, Ho has told friends bitterly.

Hunter didn't appear as the attorney of record in that matter. 

Supposedly Ho was "baffled" when Hunter testified during his failed plea hearing last year that he was paid by Ho for legal work.

There was an attorney engagement letter that was signed in September 2017, and it says: 

“If at the conclusion of this agreement, the total amount of Attorney fees and costs is less than that of the retainer sum, the remaining amount will be reimbursed to the client.”

So that's apparently the basis on which Ho is asking for the money back. 

But IRS investigator Joseph Ziegler testified to the House Ways and Means Committee last year that the evidence indicated "this $1 million payment was not for legal fees and was misrepresented by the Delaware U.S. Attorney’s Office in the statement of facts, and that its ultimate purpose was still under investigation by DOJ.”

Whatever it was meant for, if they have the agreement, then it looks like that could come back to bite Hunter -- and wouldn't that be karma. 

In addition to that money, Hunter also got $7.2 million from CEFC between March 2017 and March 2018, as well as an $80,000 diamond from CEFC chairman Ye Jianming. Supposedly he gave it to Jim Biden who threw it in the trash. Uh, sure, because you always throw out $80,000 diamonds. Hunter also got another diamond from CEFC. 

Looks like Hunter might not be "clear" quite yet.
