Even Without Recommending Criminal Charges, What the Hur Report Says About Joe Biden Is Devastating

Special Counsel Robert Hur might not be recommending criminal charges for Joe Biden as we reported earlier, but the report is devastating all the same.

We also reported earlier in the week how the Biden team was worried about the reaction to what would come out, and now I see why. They should be worried. The report not only eviscerates Biden, but it blows open the double standard yet again compared to how they're treating him versus how they're treating former President Donald Trump.

First, it should be noted that Hur found that Biden willfully retained and even disclosed classified materials.

Our investigation uncovered evidence that President Biden willfully retained and disclosed classified materials after his vice presidency when he was a private citizen. These materials included (1) marked classified documents about military and foreign policy in Afghanistan, and (2) notebooks containing Mr. Biden's handwritten entries about issues of national security and foreign policy implicating sensitive intelligence sources and methods. FBI agents recovered these materials from the garage, offices, and basement den in Mr. Biden's Wilmington, Delaware home.

Not just willfully retained, but also disclosed them, too--unlike Trump.

It gets better. Why is Biden getting a pass? He's an "elderly man with a poor memory."

"We have also considered that, at trial, Mr. Biden would likely present himself to a jury, as he did during out interview of him, as a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory," the report states. "Based on our direct interactions with and observations of him, he is someone for whom many jurors will want to identify reasonable doubt. It would be difficult to convince a jury that they should convict him — by then a former president well into his eighties — of a serious felony that requires a mental state of willfulness."

"Mr. Biden's memory was significantly limited, both during his recorded interviews with the ghostwriter in 2017, and in his interview with our office in 2023

This is devastating. Biden cannot even remember when he was vice president or even within the past several years, when his son died. This is pitiful.

Then on top of that, there are also questions of possible obstruction, but still no charges.

“At some point after learning of Special Counsel Hur's appointment, Mr. Biden's ghostwriter, Mark Zwonitzer, deleted digital audio recordings of his conversations with Mr. Biden during the writing of the book, Promise Me, Dad, The recordings had significant evidentiary value.”

But they're not charging the ghostwriter either. Let's compare it to the Trump case.

Oh, and let's not forget the pictures the Biden team was worried about. Yes, they're bad.

What a mess. How dare they talk about Trump boxes or have any prosecution of him at all after this? Some of the documents were in an unsecured garage, although they were next to his Corvette, as Biden hastened to add, as though to assure us of their security.

This is just disgraceful. But he's old so he gets a bye.

How does the law mean anything anymore, when you have such a disparity in justice?
