WATCH: AOC's Shameless Takes on Ginni Thomas and Impeachment

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has a unique ability to say truly silly things, but to say them as though they are profound truths because she doesn't understand how silly they are. As long as it serves her political agenda, she doesn't care if it has any basis in reality.

Ocasio-Cortez was on CNN with Anderson Cooper when she let loose with a horrible smear of Ginni Thomas, the wife of Justice Clarence Thomas. Cooper asked why she thought that Justice Thomas should recuse himself from the case of former President Donald Trump being tossed off the ballot in Colorado.

"Well, I think it's very clear. Clarence Thomas and, rather, his wife, Ginni, participated in the events of January 6th, and now what is likely going before the Supreme Court is a judgment as to whether an event that his wife participated in, that his wife has been investigated by the Jan. 6 Committee, qualifies as an insurrection. And Clarence Thomas' decision on that, one way or another. And the Court's decision on that would directly implicate his wife. And so, this is just one of the most classic, textbook conflicts of interest. And it would frankly be a scandal if he did not recuse himself."

Ginni Thomas should start suing these characters over this concerted smear job. There is no evidence that she was involved in any way with the riot on Jan. 6, which they are trying to call an insurrection. Not to mention it wasn't an insurrection. They want to use that falsehood to try to incapacitate Justice Thomas and thus the Court's decision in this matter.

Notice Cooper says nothing in this clip to question or push back against this nonsense. So much for any alleged journalism.

AOC wasn't quite done with the spreading of malarkey yet.

What they're using and what they're doing is taking impeachment and taking all of the most serious procedures that we have as a country, and they're learning to use it for political, they're politically weaponizing it for an election purpose, for a political purpose, and iin doing so, they're putting the people of this country, everyday Americans, absolutely at the bottom of the barrel, and they're putting themselves first. It's a selfishness that, that really endangers this country, it endangers our electoral process, it endangers our legal process, it's deeply cynical. It's done to re-elect themselves and line their own pockets.

It takes a lot of nerve to say that with a straight face. Have you ever seen a better example of projection and what the Democrats did in their efforts to try to take down former President Donald Trump with impeachment?

Now she wants to talk about things endangering our electoral process? What endangers our electoral process is the Democrats trying to take out Donald Trump and take away the votes of millions of people by trying to get him removed from the ballot. But the Democrats are shameless, and that's how you wind up with ridiculous statements like this.
