Folks on the left are fond of fulminating against the “evil” AR-15.

Things they often leave out of the equation? Very few people are murdered with rifles and even fewer than that with an AR-15. Under 3 percent of all gun deaths are with rifles.

What they also leave out is how guns are used to save people and that an AR-15 is a great home defense weapon when you need it because it’s light and easy to use with very little recoil.

A Florida man and his family are very grateful that they had one in the house after two armed men broke into their home on Wednesday night.

Jeremy King described the scary incident as the criminals broke through the back door, pointed a gun at him and demanded money.

From Bay News 9:

“They came in heavily hooded and masked. As soon as they had got the back door opened, they had a pistol on me and was grabbing my 11-year-old daughter,” he said.

“I’m telling them, ‘I have nothing for you,’” King explained. “(A)nd they’re like, ‘Give me everything you got.’ It became real violent, real fast.”

King said one of the men started pistol-whipping him while another kicked him repeatedly in the head.

King said he was beaten severely. “I’ve got a fractured eye socket, a fractured sinus cavity, a concussion, 20 stitches and three staples in my head.”

But fortunately he had his wife, who was eight months pregnant, in the back bedroom.

When she saw what was happening, one of the attackers took a shot at her. But she grabbed an AR-15 and shot right back, hitting at least one of the attackers and causing them both to flee.

One was found later outside, dead in a ditch. They’re still looking for the other man.

King summed it up.

“Them guys came in with two normal pistols and my AR stopped it,” King said. “(My wife) evened the playing field and kept them from killing me.”

But if the Democrats had their way and that family didn’t have that AR-15, they might be dead.
