If you believe embattled — and suddenly, lame duck — Minnesota Democrat Governor Tim Walz has been unaware of the scope and magnitude of the massive fraud in his state's social services program, which U.S. attorneys have suggested involves billions of dollars since 2018, raise your hand.
Or, if you believe Walz has been up to his leftist eyeballs in the alleged fraud cases, and will ultimately face greater consequences than just abruptly announcing he will not run for reelection in November, raise your hand.
Yep, just as I thought — a shutout.
Consider the Following:
The Minnesota Somali-related fraud scandals center on massive abuse of welfare-style programs under a left-wing Democrat administration that prides itself on treating so-called “equity” and “anti-racism” as more important than basic oversight.
Dozens of defendants, many tied to Somali-run businesses and nonprofits, have been charged or convicted in schemes that used shell sites, fake invoices, and kickbacks to loot (steal from) taxpayers.
Yet, while state agencies were warned early about multiple red flags, they did virtually nothing as the massive amount of fraud continued to grow even more massive.
Instead, Minnesota bureaucrats continued to approve site after site, while costs to taxpayers exploded from a few million to over $100 million a year — in one program alone. If this isn't a textbook case of big-government spending with almost zero verification, I'm not sure what one is.
Yet, Walz continues to equivocate, obfuscate, and tell bald-faced lies — "allegedly," of course — about the whole rotten mess. Like you, I imagine, the stark thought that this guy could have become vice president of the United States — the proverbial one heartbeat away from the Oval Office — is the stuff of nightmares. Then again, the same thoughts apply to hollow-suit Kamala Harris as president, but I digress.
As Walz continues to receive well-deserved incoming on social media and from conservative media outlets, there's a growing sense that our pal Tim has not only tanked his political career, but also that he will face far greater humiliation and pay a much steeper price. Let's hope that comes to fruition and serves as a warning to other political fraudsters allegedly engaged in similar scams.
Salem Media talk radio host Scott Jennings weighed in on the Walz mess on Monday. Here's a snippet, in response to a question about whether Jennings was surprised that Walz didn't resign, instead of announcing he wouldn't seek reelection:
Not surprised he didn't resign. I mean, it's hard for a politician sometimes to come to grips with the idea that they've been caught, but this guy's been caught. Let's be honest: He knows that what's been uncovered is bad, but what is yet to come is likely even worse.
He's been done in by hubris; he's been done in by his inattentiveness to the fraud going on in his state — and he was done in by a YouTuber who did the job that the media wouldn't do.
Exactly.
And the YouTuber who did that job was 23-year-old Nick Shirley, a content creator and self-described independent journalist, who, on December 26, posted a video to X, alleging fraud at Somali-run child care centers. The video quickly went viral, receiving more than 116 million views and prompting federal and state investigations.
Jennings continued to shred Walz:
[Shirley investigated] this fraud in Minnesota that's all come on the watch of ... Tim Walz. He is a buffoon; he's in over his head; he was a terrible pick by Kamala Harris, and there's never been a faster rise and fall in modern political history than that guy.
Ahh, how sweet it is.

Here's a question to ponder:
Will Walz serve out his term, or will the pressure become so great that he's forced to resign, in further humiliation?

I know the "play stupid games, win stupid prizes" admonition is overused, but "buffoon" Tim Walz is a self-aggrandizing, divisive poster child who ironically appears to assume he's above the law of the land. May his fall from grace lead to true justice, which far too many political hacks manage to escape.
