Kid Rock's New Song 'Don't Tell Me How to Live' Might Be Full of Profanity, but Man, the Patriotism

Carlos Osorio

It’s been a long week in politics, gang. From the “Build Back Better” insanity in the ‘House of Pelosi,’ to the Kyle Rittenhouse trial then ultimate verdict in Kenosha on Friday, this was one for the record books.

So, what do you say we kick back on this Saturday night and listen to a bit of patriotic music — Kid Rock style?

The Kid dropped his new single and musical video, “Don’t Tell Me How to Live,” on Friday, and by “Kid Rock style,” I mean his latest effort contains more than its share of strong language — even for the Kid. (You’ve been warned.)

That disclaimer out of the way, it’s obvious from the beginning of the song that Kid Rock, whose real name is Robert James Ritchie, has had more than enough of the same nonsense the rest of us have had more than enough of. To borrow from the classic movie “Network,” he — like us — is mad as hell and he’s not going to take it, anymore! That said, parental discretion advised [rolling-eyes emoji] and definitely NSFW.

You can check out the lyrics — unredacted — here.

Here are a few “snippets.”

My way or the highway, listen up

Ain’t nothing changed here, I still don’t give a f***

So what the f***’s up with all the backlash

You snowflakes, here’s a newsflash

Ain’t nobody gonna tell me how to live

Does this next verse ring a bell? Participation trophies for the kiddies, anyone?

Years ago, we all thought it was a joke, see?

That every kid got a mother****ing trophy

But yo homie, here’s a situation

A nation of p***ies is our next generation

And these minions and their agendas

Every opinion has a millennial offended

But this Amendment One, it rings true

And if it don’t descend, b**ch, then see Number Two

Ain’t nothing new, right church, wrong pew

Get a clue or prove your fake news and views

Can all kick the bottom of my mother****ing shoe

I’m the last of a few still screaming f*** you

Ain’t nobody gonna tell me how to live

Ain’t nobody gonna tell me how to live

Any questions for the Kid, now that you’re all “grown-up,” millennials?

As I was converting the lyrics to a “G” rating, I thought about any number of vile rap songs that verbally defile women with filthy demeaning lyrics, or stoke violence and bitter racial division, all of which is perfectly fine on the left — hell, they win “prestigious” awards — even among the hypocrites who decry conservative “misogyny” while hiding under the banner of women’s rights.

Then there’s the Kid. As he sings at the end, “I rip more lines than a ten-pound bass — Pass me the mic, I’m like sloe gin fizz…”

“And ain’t nobody… and ain’t nobody...”

“Ain’t nobody gonna tell me how to live.”

The Kid means it. So should we.
