If Anthony Fauci made yet another dramatic plea about COVID and nobody listened, would he really make a sound? Better: If nobody other than the Democrat Party and the liberal media lapdogs listened, and clapped like trained seals in response to everything he said?
The latter was the case on Wednesday morning when Fauci hooked up with Scooter George Stephanopoulos on ABC’s “Good Morning America” in an attempt to scare tens of millions of Americans into “sacrificing” their Thanksgiving in the name of all-things COVID.
Stephy lobbed a softball right down the middle of the plate for the attention-whoring emerging and infectious diseases expert, which he promptly hit into the left-field stands.
“You know we’re approaching Thanksgiving with the highest death rates, the highest caseloads, hospitalizations in months. What’s your final message to the public as we head into this holiday?
Fauci first went for the heartstrings about Thanksgiving being a “beautiful traditional holiday” — before dropping the “S-word.”
“Well, the final message is to do what we’ve been saying for some time. Keep the indoor gatherings as small as you possibly can. We all know how difficult that is because this is such a beautiful, traditional holiday. But by making that sacrifice, you’re going to prevent people from getting infected.”
Regardless of how careful you might be, he warned, you’re “going to let your guard down.”
“Because we know for sure that people who are without symptoms, innocently, with no manintention at all, goes to a party, goes to a gathering, gets together indoors, lets their guard down; you obviously have to take your mask off if you’re eating or drinking. Try to avoid that as much as possible.”
“A sacrifice now could save lives and illness and make the future much brighter as we get through this,” he pleaded, again. Spoiler: Stephy was all in.

Fauci then dangled the vaccine carrot, which he said is “right on the horizon.”
“Vaccines are right on the horizon. If we can just hang in there a bit longer and continue to do the simple mitigation things that we’re talking about all the time — the masks, the distancing, the avoiding crowds, particularly indoor.
“If we do those things, we’re going to get through it. So that’s my final plea before the holiday.”
I’m not sure what Fauci meant by “right on the horizon,” but I do know that in July he said vaccines would not be widely available until at least several months into 2021.
“I think as we get into 2021, several months in, that you would have vaccines that would be widely available.”
Remember how Donald Trump was roundly criticized by the Left for months, for predicting that a COVID vaccine would be available by the end of the year? Me too.
Even the Washington Post last week published an op-ed, titled About Those Trump Vaccination Predictions, and asked in the subhead: “Do media ‘fact-checkers’ owe the President an apology?” The answer is, of course, “hell yes” — and the answer to whether he’ll get an apology is “oh hell no.”
Before we leave, let’s take a short walk down memory lane with Tony Fauci, shall we?
In July, as reported by my RedState colleague streiff, Fauci praised New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo — of all people — for “doing it properly.” Same Andrew Cuomo, BTW, whose order forcing NY nursing homes to admit people who had tested positive for the virus led to the deaths of more than 6,000 New Yorkers.
“We know that, when you do it properly, you bring down those cases. We have done it. We have done it in New York. New York got hit worse than any place in the world. And they did it correctly by doing the things that you’re talking about.”
Also in July, when Fauci was asked by Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) during a House hearing whether continuing Black Lives Matter “peaceful “protests” were a risk to public health, he repeatedly dodged the question, as reported by my colleague Bonchie.
In October, Fauci called for a national mask mandate, as reported Bonchie, telling CNN it would be a “great idea” to have a mandate if people refuse to wear them.”
Less than two weeks ago, as reported by streiff, Fauci pretty much told Americans to shut the hell up — and “do what you’re told.”
“I was talking with my UK colleagues who are saying the UK is similar to where we are now because each of our countries have that independent spirit, I can understand that, but now is the time to do what you’re told.”
Also in October, my colleague Michael Thau reported on a beatdown delivered to Fauci by a prominent professor of epidemiology at Yale University, also an M.D., who charged that Fauci’s “decisions are not based on science,” and are “killing Americans.”
A multitude of additional examples exists, but suffice it to say that Fauci has become the hood ornament of the “Trump has killed 260K Americans” clown car of the liberal media, and he eats it up like Michael Moore inhaling meatloaf at an all-you-can-eat buffet.
This is not to suggest that Fauci agrees with the lunatic Left about Trump being responsible for COVID deaths — he doesn’t — but he sure trots out to every camera he can find and pontificates to America about COVID to his heart’s delight — even when he’s wrong.
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. Enjoy it with your family. All of it.
