New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill (D) went on the “offensive” against President Trump amid rising national concerns over the extent of illegal voting.
Bold strategy for a governor who recently disclosed that not only were 6,600 non-citizens registered to vote in the state, but 400 of them actually voted.
Democrat NJ Gov. Mikie Sherrill, after announcing that her state’s voter rolls had 6,000+ noncitizens registered to vote: “Donald Trump has zero credibility on election integrity. He peddles bizarre conspiracy theories about fraud with no evidence.” pic.twitter.com/CFSfZciRaC

True to form, the Democrat governor tried blaming a voting technology firm for a software “glitch” that magically registered non-citizens as voters.
“The new MVC Administrator that I appointed has begun the process of replacing the vendor responsible for administering the system,” she said in her statement.
Last week I learned that a serious software error in New Jersey’s Motor Vehicle System led to the registration of roughly 6,600 people who indicated that they were not U.S. citizens between June 2023 and June 2024, almost three years prior to my taking office. These individuals…

Just one problem: As RedState reported, the election vendor, IDEMIA, basically said the governor is out of her gourd:
IDEMIA, the software vendor whose alleged glitch enabled 6,600 noncitizens to register to vote in New Jersey, is out with a CYA statement blaming the state. pic.twitter.com/Em5eHYyi4W

"IDEMIA’s role is to transmit information through the motor vehicle system. The voter registration information is transmitted to the New Jersey Department of State, Division of Elections, which is ultimately responsible for verifying eligibility to vote,” the company noted. “Information submitted by IDEMIA must still be validated and adjudicated by the Division of Elections."
Whoops.
Yet her masterclass in deflection wouldn’t be complete without a familiar villain somehow getting blamed for New Jersey’s election woes.
It goes a little something like this: “This orange-complexioned president has been the sole source of blame for countless Democrat scandals.”
If you guessed “Who is Donald Trump?” then give yourself a round of applause.
Here is Sherrill in a rant on Thursday that is more unhinged than the doors at Home Depot.
Gov Mikie Sherrill says President Trump and the Federal Government are "Weaponizing Election Fraud" 🥴
— J (@JayTC53) July 23, 2026
No you MORON. They're the only ones trying to stop election fraud.
You can't be trusted with an independent investigation into your own state. pic.twitter.com/r1u0CZNND3
If you need an English-to-English translation, here goes:
We move very quickly because the people of New Jersey obviously deserve accountability and transparency.
We're running an independent investigation right now to get to the bottom of exactly how this happened and what's going on.
But, you know, it is not a surprise to me that the federal government, that the Trump administration, wants to immediately weaponize this against people as opposed to focusing on making sure that we're running free and fair elections. That's my focus.
I would say, again, that Trump has done more to undermine our election system than anyone in my lifetime, including Vladimir Putin. He has attacked the 2020 election, which he ran. He has also sent out an insurrection against us when we were trying to certify that election. He then has defunded all the ways in which we protect and keep our elections safe.
So, contrary to what he's doing here in New Jersey, we are focused on running fair elections and getting to the bottom of what took place.
Oh, we have “gotten to the bottom of it,” Gov. Sherrill. New Jersey has a voting problem that Democrats like you have no interest in solving.
You would think election bugs are a feature at this point.
After all, whenever you mention “voter ID” to a Democrat, you get a reaction roughly like that of Linda Blair in The Exorcist.
Thus, even though 80 percent of Americans support voter IDs, Democrats grasp at more straws than a McDonald’s drive-thru attendant in order to claim it’s “racist” or “sexist” or some kind of “ist” —and that’s why we need to have elections that are less secure than Angola’s. (No, seriously.)
Sherrill, of course, cried foul about DOJ “weaponization” because the Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights, Harmeet Dhillon, has opened an investigation into what actually happened.
Why the histrionics? Because Dhillon had the audacity to ask how the state government could leave the door open to potential voter disenfranchisement.
Instead of respecting the DOJ inquiry and the intelligence of American voters, Sherrill launched into a tendentious broadside against all of her perceived attackers—and threw in the Russia Hoax to boot.
If you can’t pound the facts, pound the table. Or more aptly, pound on Trump.

But this playbook gets diminishing returns when it comes to issues like voting integrity: Scapegoating works best for partisan issues, not real issues that demand actual solutions.
So “blame Trump” isn’t going to change the fact that New Jersey is running elections that are liable to voting errors.
And it’s also not going to work because President Trump is pushing to reform our elections to be in line with standards once agreed upon by Democrats.
Paper ballots. Voter IDs. Single-day voting.
Remember when Kamala in 2019 pushed paper ballots because ‘Russia can’t hack a piece of paper’?

Now her party screams voter ID and secure elections are ‘racist.’
Funny how election ‘security’ only mattered when they thought it would stop Trump. 👀 pic.twitter.com/3yiwvPy4qJ
It doesn’t look so good, either, when 30 states are fighting like cornered wolverines to keep their dirty voter rolls under wraps.
So, if New Jersey is willing to openly admit illegal voters, imagine how bad it must be in Illinois and California.
Screeching Democrats like Mikie Sherrill are giving the game away: ‘Don’t ask to see our voter rolls. No, we don't know how many illegal voters there are. If you ask, you’re weaponizing the government.’
No, governor, we are trying to de-weaponize the government and put it back in the hands of the American people. That means election security and ensuring free and fair elections. It means passing the SAVE America Act.
