President Donald Trump signed an executive order for First Lady Melania's effort that is designed to aid older foster kids to have successful lives, which is part of the first lady's ongoing "Be Best" initiative.
During a signing at the White House on Thursday, Melania talked about the "Fostering the Future for American Children and Families" EO, which will "harness Federal support, technology, and strategic partnerships to provide young Americans in or transitioning out of the foster care system with the tools they need to become successful adults," according to a press release.

"A special thank you to my husband for his enduring commitment to fostering the future," the first lady said. "Too many people from foster care community end up homeless, in danger on America's street. It was 2021, when I developed the idea to establish an impactful platform ... to provide individuals from the foster care community the ability to secure an entry-level job position and, in turn, financial independence."
"Fostering the future, a Be Best initiative, provides individuals from the foster care community with technology-based scholarships to attend colleges and universities throughout America," she added. "Fostering the future sets these individuals on their career paths, but more significantly, it equips each scholarship recipient with the fundamental foundation of knowledge that will endure throughout their lifetime.

President Trump and the first lady then signed the EO, which "unites Federal resources with innovative public/private partnerships to provide more pathways to success for young people who experienced foster care."
Some of what the order does is as follows, per the White House release.
-Establish a "Fostering the Future" initiative to develop partnerships with agencies and leading private sector organizations, academic institutions, and non-profit entities to create new educational and employment opportunities for individuals who are in or are transitioning out of the foster care system.
-Develop a strategy to reallocate funds returned by States from Federal programs designed to assist individuals transitioning out of foster care so that such returned funds are used to promote educational success, occupational advancement, and financial literacy and self-sufficiency for individuals transitioning out of foster care.
-Facilitate, in coordination with the Secretary of the Treasury and the Secretary of Education, State use of educational scholarships created through tax-credited donations to scholarship-granting organizations for children in foster care.
Melania's "Be Best" initiative is geared toward helping children, which is something that she not only wants to do for American children, but all kids around the world.
Another example was when the first lady wrote a personal plea for peace in a letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin, over the summer, amid ongoing negotiations to end the Ukraine-Russia war, as my RedState colleague Becca Lower reported.
Melania's letter read, in part:
Undeniably, we must strive to paint a dignity-filled world for all - so that every soul may wake to peace, and so that the future itself is perfectly guarded.
A simple yet profound concept, Mr. Putin, as I am sure you agree, is that each generation's descendants begin their lives with a purity - an innocence which stands above geography, government, and ideology.
Yet in today's world, some children are forced to carry a quiet laughter, untouched by the darkness around them - a silent defiance against the forces that can potentially claim their future. Mr. Putin, you can singlehandedly restore their melodic laughter.
