"Pocahontas" Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) got a bit ahead of her skis and tried to come for Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr., but ended up on her rear over the support she gets from Big Pharma.

During the Senate Finance Committee hearing on Thursday, Kennedy took fire from Democrats over the changes he's made recently when it comes to the COVID vaccine and the drama at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention after CDC Director Susan Monarez was fired after a month, several other key CDC officials resigned in protest, and 1,000 current and former staff sent a letter demanding RFK Jr. resign.

One of the many fiery exchanges included when "Pocahontas" falsely claimed that RFK Jr. had taken away the COVID vaccine when he changed the guidelines for them.

"You are effectively denying people vaccines," Warren stated.

Sec. Kennedy shot back that he was "not going to recommend a product for which there was no clinical data for that indication. Is that what I should be doing?"

"What you should be doing is honoring your promise you made when you were looking to get confirmed in this job," Warren shot back. "And that is, you promised, that you would not take away vaccines from anyone who wanted them."

"You just changed the classification of the COVID vaccine…" she added, before Kennedy interjected, "I'm not taking them away from people."

"It takes it away if you can't get it from your pharmacy," Warren continued.

"Most Americans are going to be able to get it from their pharmacy for free," Kennedy replied.

"I never promised that I was going to recommend products for which there is no indication," he added as Warren continued to talk over him.

"And I know you've taken $855,000 from pharmaceutical companies, Senator!" RFK Jr. continued, dropping the truth bomb on her about the massive financial support she's received from Big Pharma and why she was really upset about the changes. You want me to indicate a product for which there is no clinical data ... I'm not taking them away. Everybody could get access to them."

As my RedState colleague Jennifer Oliver O'Connell reported, Sec. Kennedy was under fire from the start of the hearing, and he was masterful in handling the Democrats' claims that he was "anti-vaccine" or "anti-medicine!"

"I'm pro-medicine, but I understand some medicines HARM people!" RFK Jr. said. "Some of them have risks…And the same is true with vaccines!"

O'Connell also pointed out Sec. Kennedy's comments on the shake-up at the CDC:

And that's why we need bold, competent, and creative new leadership at CDC. People who are able and willing to chart a new course. As my father once said, "Progress is a nice word. A change is its motivator." And change has its enemies. That's why we need new blood at CDC. That's also why it's imperative that we removed officials with conflicts of interest and catastrophically bad judgment and political agendas. We need unbiased, politics-free, transparent, evidence-based science in the public interest. Those are the guiding principles behind the changes at the CDC, and that is what you can expect all across our agency for the next three years.
