Chicago residents dismantled the Democrats' narrative of law and order in the blue city and said the National Guard and President Donald Trump's help are needed to get things under control.
In a series of interviews shared by the White House Rapid Response account on X on Monday, business owners, residents, and more spoke with their local Chicago news outlets about how crime is out of control, and they would welcome Trump to do the same thing he did in the nation's capital by federalizing law enforcement and making crime drop.
"We have a rule — on weekends, we don't walk here," said one downtown Chicago resident earlier this year after shootings terrorized his neighborhood.

"We have a rule — on weekends, we don't walk here," a downtown resident said in one clip following a shooting involving a group of teens. "If we go to West Loop or whatever, we'll Uber, then we'll Uber home."

A business owner said, "The whole neighborhood is just sick of people coming into the neighborhood and acting like they can just come ravage your stores. Take what they want to take. And then they try to make you feel like you're wrong for defending your property."

"The National Guard has to come here, even if it's for a scare tactic. They have to come here. There's no control. There's no law and order," a third Chicago resident said.
A fourth resident shared, "I'm shocked and I'm disappointed at the same time because this neighborhood used to be a very good neighborhood."

One elected Chicago official didn't beat around the bush and acknowledged that "We certainly have a crime problem in Chicago … we have a problem with illegal guns. We have a high murder rate. We need help with that."
And the White House provided even more examples that the Democrat-run city is anything but safe. In a press release on Monday, they provided more quotes from residents in Chicago.
"You hardly see a police car in the neighborhood. It just seems like crime is really out of control right now… Mayor [Brandon] Johnson is more worried about his school board and his pension stuff that he's working on right now. He should be worried more about the neighborhoods in Chicago," said a pub owner and robbery victim.
"I don't think [Mayor Brandon Johnson] really listened to our concerns. He doesn't understand. He needs to come and be in the midst of one of these 'teen takeovers,' and then maybe he'll understand how dangerous it is for everyone," said a resident of downtown Chicago after repeated teen brawls in the area.
And the stats from the White House back up the claim even more.
Below are a few that stood out:
For 13 consecutive years, Chicago has had the most murders of any U.S. city.
For seven consecutive years, Chicago has had the highest murder rate among U.S. cities with more than one million people.
Out of Chicago's 147,899 reported crimes since January 1, arrests have been made in just 16.2% of them.
More illegal guns are recovered in Chicago than in New York City and Los Angeles combined.
President Trump has hinted that Chicago could be next for a surge in law enforcement, following the success in D.C., as RedState reported.
"After we do this (D.C.), we'll go to another location and we'll make it safe also," he explained. "We're going to make our country very safe. We're going to make our cities very, very safe."
"Chicago's a mess, you have an incompetent mayor — grossly incompetent — and we'll straighten that one out probably next," Trump said. "That will be our next one after this."
