How A Civilization Obliterates Itself

Imagine, you live in a civilization that has rendered your church and its moral beliefs hollow and empty. It was first made subservient to the state, and then made to have all the spirituality and moral fiber you would expect from a tax collector or a clerk at the DMV. The social norms have continuously moved to render interaction with others a minefield. The rights you think you have, you don’t what has been custom for millennia has been set aside. Just how long can the mechanical values that maintain civilization endure in such a society ? What’s more your country is actively penalizing anything that would promote the bonds between countrymen ?

The answer by experiment seems to be somewhere between 50 and 100 years call it three to 4 generations. The result comes to us from the UK

A fashion chief executive attacked by an unwell 6ft man on a busy Tube carriage has slammed two men who moved seats and left her to defend herself.

Tamara Cincik was kicked and threatened while travelling to a business meeting in central London yesterday.

The mother-of-one told MailOnline, children were crying as the agitated man squared up to her and started violently attacking her in the middle of the carriage.

Recounting the incident, Ms Cincik said: ‘I got on the Tube at Highgate and I was going to Old Street. A man got on at Archway, he was about six foot and around 30 to 35-years-old and he started just screaming.

‘At first I thought he was some sort of performance artist but then it became clear that he was not well.

‘He was screaming and shouting at me and saying things like ‘I am going to f****** kick you’ then he did actually kick me. It was intimidating, he was a big guy and I am only size eight.’

The fashion CEO is keen to stress she does not blame this man, who she desribes as being 6ft tall and asian.

‘I remain more angry with those white middle class men who left me to it. As fathers, husbands and sons they should be ashamed of themselves.’

“I remain more angry with those white middle class men who left me to it” It’s an interesting thing to say, she obviously expects the men to perform their traditional role. Under normal circumstances most people might consider that reasonable. Good citizens of a country should try to protect its members especially the weaker ones. I know if I saw a woman being harassed, I would certainly try my best to interpose and defuse the situation. Then again, I live in a country that understands the inherent right to defend yourself and to bear arms, a state that has no duty to retreat, and doesn’t jail people for reporting or interfering with “Asians (British catch all for culturally unassimilated members of the religion of peace) who rape children”. If I lived in a nation where it would be a no good deed goes unpunished situation, I don’t know how I would have reacted.

The greater comedy here comes from the victim’s blog.

It is thus clear that Brexit is a huge concern for the fashion industry, which is predicated on fluid borders and access to dynamic global talent.

The British Fashion Council (BFC) cites a 95% Remain response from the fashion industry. I have worked in fashion as a stylist, editor and lecturer for over 20 years, and I would say the figure is far higher: I know of only one person from the industry who voted to Leave. To read my social media feed last summer was to read messages of disbelief and devastation, and to see huge concerns around the future of our very way of life – one which needs constant international mobility just to survive in what are already competitive and saturated markets.

Anyone care to give odds that she doesn’t understand the connection between what happened to her, what has been happening to young girls in the UK and how it will get worse as time goes on ? For bonus points, what are the chances she has had  it pointed out to her and is in vehement denial ?

That’s todays Water Cooler as always an open thread.
