While House Democrats were attempting to adjourn until Monday, despite a looming government shutdown, they got a little assist when a fire alarm sounded in the Cannon House Office Building, forcing an evacuation. Unfortunately for them, Politico is reporting that Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) is the person who pulled it, and that he's on film doing so.
There was an alert to Capitol police officers to locate him, I'm told.

Fox's Chad Pergram says that the US Capitol Police criminal investigation unit are questioning Bowman.

Pergram's tweet was deleted, but the House Administration Committee GOP wrote:
Rep Jamaal Bowman pulled a fire alarm in Cannon this morning. An investigation into why it was pulled is underway. - Chairman Bryan Steil

if Bowman pulled the alarm without cause, he could face criminal charges.
This guy pulled a fire alarm and will likely be arrested, so he won’t actually be there for anyone whether Democrats shut down the government or not.
