The votes are still being tallied, but Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) has won the Republican primary for Governor of Alabama. (He has 88.4 percent of the vote as of this writing.) Tuberville ran away from his Republican opponents: businessman and political gadfly Ken McFeeters, and self-described businessman and entrepreneur Will Santivasci.

In 2025, Tuberville announced he would seek the Alabama governorship. As a former and beloved head coach at Auburn University from 1999 to 2008, Tuberville already had the name recognition and goodwill of a majority of Alabamians. Combine that with his record as a senator who stands up and fights for what he believes in, as well as the people of Alabama, along with his fundraising prowess, and it was clear that Tuberville would be a shoo-in to win the Republican primary.
Tuberville has been a staunch Donald Trump loyalist from the beginning, so it was no surprise that Tuberville received the president's endorsement. That he ably secured the Republican nomination for the state's highest executive is now a foregone conclusion.
Highly Respected Senator, “Coach” Tommy Tuberville, is running for Governor of Alabama, a place I love and WON BIG, six times, including Primaries, in 2016, 2020, and 2024!

In March, Tuberville's opponent, Ken McFeeters, filed a lawsuit to remove Tuberville from the ballot, claiming that under the Alabama constitution, Tuberville did not fulfill state residency requirements to run for the office. On Monday, a district court judge dismissed the lawsuit.

Tuberville will face a familiar nemesis in the November general election. In 2020, former Democrat Senator Doug Jones was unseated by Tuberville, depriving Jones of a second U.S. Senate term. We will see if Tuberville will now deprive Jones of the Alabama governorship.
Editor’s Note: The 2026 Midterms will determine the fate of President Trump’s America First agenda. Republicans must maintain control of both chambers of Congress.
