Nancy Mace Files Resolution to Expel Cory Mills From Congress

There appears to be an expulsion fever occurring in the House of Representatives. Republican Tony Gonzales (TX-23) and Democrat Eric Swalwell (CA-14) resigned their seats, rather than face this particular fate. Democrat Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick (FL-20) and Republican Cory Mills (FL-07) remain bloodied, but unbowed.

Cherfilus-McCormick's day of reckoning comes Tuesday. The House Ethics Commission has found her in violation of 25 charges and recommended sanctions. Republican Ana Paulina Luna (FL-13) plans to bring a resolution to the floor to have Cherfilus-McCormick expelled.

Republican Rep. Nancy Mace (SC-01) has Republican Cory Mills (FL-03) in her sights, and she's locked and loaded.

I filed a resolution to expel Cory Mills from Congress.

Last time, my resolution to censure him failed because he cut a deal with Ilhan Omar to save his own skin.

My new resolution outlines how Mills misrepresented his military service, sexual misconduct, campaign finance violations and illicit involvement in federal contracts as a member of Congress, among other charges.

Swalwell is gone. Gonzales is gone. Mills is next.

We need to have the moral courage to do what’s right and expel him.

Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) introduced a resolution on Monday to expel Rep. Cory Mills (R-Fla.), who is facing a wide swath of allegations, from Congress.

The House Ethics Committee is investigating whether Mills violated campaign finance laws, received special favors in his position, engaged in sexual misconduct, and misused congressional resources.

He has long faced calls from some of his Republican colleagues to step down, with pressure intensifying after former Reps. Tony Gonzales (R-Texas) and Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) resigned from Congress earlier this month over allegations of sexual misconduct.

They’re coming after me because I am standing up for YOU and your values.

Cory Mills allegedly beats women, has a restraining order against him from threatening a woman, reports say he’s an arms dealer while sitting on House Armed Services and Foreign Affairs, and rumored to be profiting off federal contracts from his own seat. He is neck-deep in fraud and police reports. He has no place in Congress. His rightful place is behind bars.

Because I will not back down from exposing him, he is trying to expel me.

This is the same person who protected Ilhan Omar when we tried to censure her. The same person who got married in a mosque where 9/11 was planned. The same person who, when questioned by police about bruises on a woman, tried to call Pam Bondi.

So go ahead, Cory. Bring it on.

Swalwell Not the First - House Committee Has Long History of Investigating Members' Bad Behavior

“The swamp has protected Cory Mills for far too long and we are done letting it slide. We tried to censure him and strip him from his committee assignments. Both parties blocked it, but we are not backing down,” Mace said in a statement. “The evidence against Mills is overwhelming: beating women and telling them to lie about it, cyberstalking women, lying about his military service, and profiting off his seat. Any Member who votes to keep him here is voting to protect a woman beater and a fraud. He needs to be expelled immediately.”

“I did not come to Congress to watch powerful people abuse women and cover it up. Cory, your days are numbered. Start packing,” Mace added.

As my colleague Rusty Weiss reported, Mills has been under scrutiny for these allegations for quite some time, and it appears to have influenced some of his voting. Mills sided with Democrats to save Rep. Ilhan Omar (MN-05) from being censured and removed from the House committees on which she sat.

It should be noted that Mills had a personal stake in this vote. Democrats had vowed to force a vote to censure him if the GOP moved forward on Omar.

"The Mills resolution centers on reports and allegations of domestic violence and sexual misconduct, stolen valor, making false financial disclosures, and committing campaign finance violations," Axios reports, all of which he vehemently denies.

In 2025, Mace filed a resolution to have Mills censured and stripped of his role on the House Foreign Affairs and Armed Services Committee. This effort was blocked by Republicans, and the charges against Mills were referred to the House Ethics Committee. Interesting fact: Mills has been under ethics committee investigation since August 2024.

For his part, Mills has characterized Mace's campaign as the pot calling the kettle black. Mace is also under House Ethics Committee investigation over allegations of improper reimbursement practices. According to NOTUS, Mills says he is "mulling" filing an expulsion resolution of his own against her.

Rather than political fundraising theatrics by Mace “introduced”  ignoring due process, why not notice for a vote? Nancy thinks allegations and accusations is due process and should concern South Carolinians if she was to be considered for Governor.  Even though she’s under investigation by the Ethics committee and in courts in South Carolina. Will Nancy share her alleged TRO issued for harassment of her ex-fiancé? Nancy’s “I don’t drink alcohol” when there’s videos of her drinking and spitting alcohol into a woman’s mouth for a game?

Call the vote forward Nancy!

Mace does not plan to run for reelection in District 1. She has filed papers to run for the governorship in South Carolina, leaving her congressional seat open.

Editor’s Note: The 2026 Midterms will determine the fate of President Trump’s America First agenda. Republicans must maintain control of both chambers of Congress.
