For whatever reason, my X feed has been inundated with every politician's holiday greetings — domestic, foreign, even the Israeli Defense Forces! Most are pictures, memes, or videos offering season's greetings, happy holidays, or Merry Christmas through a variety of ways and means. The fact that elected leaders are now taking the time to post these greetings at all signals a distinct cultural shift for the better. But you can tell there's still a disconnect with some of them as they throw something together out of obligation rather than real commitment. The ones that played it safe and kept it simple were wise, while a good number of them are good cures for insomnia.
Then there are the downright cringe ones. Politicians, government departments, and the people who staff them are often too conscious of the optics, lacking in creativity, or both. Skating the line between boring and cringe is the governor of Pennsylvania's attempt to wish Pennsylvanians a Merry Christmas. It falls flatter than an overcooked soufflé.

But I doubt anyone can top the peak cringe of the Biden administration. In 2023, Dr. Jill Biden decorated the White House in an "Alice in Wonderland" theme. Either that or someone was on an acid trip. The jury is still out on that one.
This is the video the Biden administration released right before Christmas in 2023.

I believe I speak for the majority of Americans when I say I am thankful the Bidens didn't get to decorate this Christmas.

In terms of class over crass, this post from The Jewish Ally hits the right notes of kindness, inspiration, and entertainment. Along with the season's greeting and appreciation for the Christian support of the Jewish community — especially over the last two years — the organization attached a funny video of the late comedienne Joan Rivers talking about Christmas.
Bit of a language warning, but worth the WATCH:

But just as the Trump administration has flipped government on its head while utilizing social media to its advantage, this Christmas, they have brought fresh creativity to their missives, while good-naturedly upping the ante on each other.
Secretary Doug Burgum of the Department of the Interior led the way with this exceptionally sweet animation in the spirit of Charles Schulz.

Department of Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy offered a window into the projects and the people that make DoT work as they prepare to light the department's Christmas tree. It's informative as well as fun.

The White House team decided to borrow from the Gen X classic, "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation," where Clark Griswold lights up a huge "MAGA" for all the nation to see (like, totally!).

HHS hits the cultural zeitgeist while touting domestic policy in a lighthearted fashion. Whoever pitched and executed this concept deserves a raise AND a commendation.
While department heads like Housing and Urban Development's Scott Turner are straight up sharing the Christmas story, others simply shared their Christmas observations or celebrations. But suffice to say, all of the approaches reflect innovation, genuine thought, and their own personal touch.
While this is not posted directly from Vice President JD Vance's account, it shows what a great sport our VP is, and gets an honorable mention among this year's epic Christmas memes.

Not only has the Trump administration altered the way government gets things done, but they've helped make a season of joy and merriment even more so.
Have a very Merry Christmas!
