Kathryn Walt Hall is one of those blue-blooded, monied elites who own politicians through their largesse.
Walt Hall and her husband Craig Hall were the infamous “wine cave” purveyors behind the 2020 Primary election brouhaha with then-Presidential candidates Mayor Pete Buttigieg and Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Liawatha). The couple hosted Mayor Pete for a $1,000 a glass fundraiser for his campaign, and Sen. Fauxcahontas called him on it.
To reach the wine cave that set off a firestorm in this week’s Democratic presidential debate, visitors must navigate a hillside shrouded in mossy oak trees and walk down a brick-and-limestone hallway lined with wine barrels. Inside the room, a strikingly long table made of wood and onyx sits below a raindrop chandelier with 1,500 Swarovski crystals.
The furnishings drew the ire of Senator Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts on Thursday, when she chastised Pete Buttigieg for holding a recent fund-raiser in a wine cave “full of crystals” where she said guests were served $900 bottles of wine.
“Billionaires in wine caves should not pick the next president of the United States,” she said. Andrew Yang, a former tech executive, added that candidates should not have to “shake the money tree in the wine cave.”
On Friday, the billionaire couple who owns the wine cave — wine is often stored underground because of the cool, stable temperatures — said they were frustrated that their property had set off one of the fiercest back-and-forths of the debate. Watching the contentious moment on television, they grew frustrated as Ms. Warren and other candidates used their winery as a symbol of opulence and the wealthy’s influence on politics.
“I’m just a pawn here,” said Craig Hall, who owns Hall Wines, which is known for its cabernet sauvignon, with his wife, Kathryn Walt Hall. “They’re making me out to be something that’s not true. And they picked the wrong pawn. It’s just not fair.”
Just a pawn? Oh, poor, put upon billionaire! This couple, through their shell corporation the Hall Financial Group, Inc., has given billions of dollars to Democrats since the 1980s, to make sure they have a controlling interest in who will be the next President, Governor, Senators, and Congressmen. This last cycle, to the tune of $50,000, they contributed to Dementia Joe’s Biden Victory Fund. The couple has also hosted our Governor Hair Gel for a few events, and other Democrat candidates and office holders who they considered malleable and influential (remember Tom Daschle?)
I find it interesting that the Hall Financial Group, and their holdings are domiciled in the Lone Star State of Texas. Which means they aren’t paying too much in the way of California taxes, while taking advantage of what little resources California still has.
This also means in terms of the group’s wineries’ water usage, they have only a vested interest in protecting their own grounds, and no interest in helping anyone else’s. They have no connection in California outside of their own holdings, so why should they?
On the Walt Hall Winery bio for Kathryn Walt Hall, it drops buzzwords like “inner city development”, and “community activist,” but when it comes to water rights and reclamation, as opposed to water preservation and reservoirs to preserve the farming community of California, people who have been in this state for generations, you can bet your bottom dollar that Walt Hall will be ensuring her winery has its share of water before she gives a rat’s behind about what is being done for Central Valley farmers, who are currently dying due to drought and mismanagement. They are no better than the Wonderful Company’s Lynda and Stewart Resnick, but at least the Resnicks live and have their holdings in California.
Kathryn Walt Hall is the proprietor of HALL Wines and WALT Wines, and has been involved in the California wine industry since her family first purchased a vineyard in the 1970’s. She has had a distinguished career as a successful businesswoman, attorney, community activist, and as the United States Ambassador to Austria.
And Ambassador to Austria under President Bill Clinton? Austria is no Afghanistan, but you go, girl.
To no one’s surprise, the couple gives money to Democrat candidates and left-leaning causes in California, Texas, and other states. This includes contributions to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Cruella), Affirmative Action Sen. Alex Padilla (D-Useless)’s 2022 Senate run, and hefty amounts of cash to the DCCC.
Walt Hall recently used one of her wine caves to host the latest Democrat Campaign Congressional Committee (DCCC) “retreat” and proudly posted a video to her Instagram account of Nancy Pelosi speaking, and some of the honored guests at the event, like Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm.

If I’m not mistaken, Adam Schiff (D-Fraud)’s bald spot and pencil neck may have been spotted on one of the camera passes. Everyone was mask free, except for the catering staff and servers. There was also no social distancing. Reminiscent of President No. 44 Barack Obama’s 700-guest 60th Birthday bash which turned into a super-spreader event.
But hey, Dems gonna Dem.

What struck me was all the very white, very fossilized faces in the bunch. Always amazes me that people who try to force equity and inclusion on everyone else are never very equitable or inclusive themselves. If I had had enough money to fork over for one of these tickets, I wonder how welcome they would be towards my presence? Where are Alicia Garza and Patrisse Cullors, for God’s sake? Napa is not far from Garza’s hood in Oakland—they couldn’t have popped her an invitation?
This event is apparently an annual thing for Cruella Pelosi, where she fills the coffers for the DCCC, and also fattens up the lambs for the slaughter. According to Breitbart, the nine Democrats who oppose the bloated 3.5 trillion infrastructure bill were invited to come, so Cruella could work her magic on them in order to get that bill passed.
The “honored” Democrats going to her fundraiser are Reps. Cindy Axne (IA), Carolyn Bourdeaux (GA), Angie Craig (MN), Sharice Davids (KS), Vicente Gonzalez (TX), Josh Harder (CA), Susie Lee (NV), Tom Malinowski (NJ), Haley Stevens (MI), and Lauren Underwood (IL).
Well, this fundraiser next Sunday in Napa with Speaker Pelosi and Rep. Bourdeaux could be awkward … #gapol https://t.co/BSPCwA1f61 pic.twitter.com/qnS4IyMEva

Pelosi knows that those Democrats will be booted out on their rear ends in 2022 if they vote with her for passage of this bill; but among these very monied, connected, and favored elites, probably from a host of different states and countries, Pelosi is ensuring that they land softly.
As Otto Von Bismarck said,
“Laws are like sausages, it is better not to see them being made.”
This is how the sausage is made.
