Another day, another California politician acting hypocritically. I’d say it has to do with the Pacific Ocean, but the odds are more weighted toward party than geography—and in this progressive bastion we have a lion’s share of them.
On to this hour’s hypocritical joker:
San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo (Democrat-Duh), ignored his own protocols <clutch the pearls!> and had Thanksgiving with family members outside of his own household.
“The NBC Bay Area Investigative Unit has learned Liccardo celebrated with his elderly parents at their Saratoga home with an unknown number of other guests. While the mayor’s staff did confirm the dinner took place, they have not disclosed how many other people attended, how many different households were present, and whether any of those in attendance wore masks while not eating.”
I think it is now becoming a journalistic sporting event to catch these political fools in the act. Bill Melugin of Fox11 LA is a household name thanks to his digging and discovering all the double and dirty dealings of both Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti and Governor Gavin Newsom. Garcetti wanted to give snitches rewards, right? Well, Mayor Uselessness, we can choose to snitch on you all instead. When you lock people down, they have lots of time on their hands to be good citizens, observe, and call out your behavior. And there’s lots to call out.
Liccardo’s Twitter profile is typical virtue-signaling progressive pablum: A “serious” picture of him with a mask that has a “woke” message on the front, showing he leads by example (too late). The finishing touch, a rallying call in the header photo for all to read, like, “Stronger, together”.
Spare me.
Like his Governor King Gavin and the rest of the gang of phonies, Liccardo took to social media (someone needs to take away these people’s phones) to woke scold and dictate to his constituents that they must cancel large gatherings this Thanksgiving in order to keep everyone safe.
Cases are spiking, in part because we’re letting our guard (and masks) down with family & friends. Let’s cancel the big gatherings this year and focus on keeping each other safe https://t.co/oHFXb6DZ82

As per usez, Liccardo didn’t think that advice applied to him.
When NBC Bay Area questioned his staff, Liccardo’s beleaguered Chief of Staff Jim Reed did a song and dance about the Mayor’s gathering:
“ ‘This is a private event – not public,” said Jim Reed, Liccardo’s Chief of Staff. ‘We are going to redraw the line between what is personal and what is public because that line has become blurred.’
Redraw the line? Hmmm… Kind of like, after a few lawsuits, your ilk had to redraw the line on screaming protests are COVID safe, but gathering for church and singing is not? Yeah, that sounds about right.
The report continues,
“Reed repeated that same statement several times when asked to provide more details about the event, including the number of people in attendance and the types of safety precautions taken.
Kind of like a Stuart Smalley affirmation—say it enough times and click your heels, and it will come true! Sounds like Reed needs to lay off the synthetic weed.
“Reed, however, did note that Liccardo and other guests practiced social distancing while gathering and eating outside.”
Fabulous! Look Ma, I social-distanced! Does Reed want us to give the Mayor a cookie? This is the generation that grew up on participation trophies, so maybe one of those, inscribed with, “Welcome to the Hypocrisy Bullet Train, moron!”
Now go home and isolate.
