In this episode, Devon Westhill, President and General Counsel at the Center for Equal Opportunity, joined the program to discuss affirmative action and its negative impact on the black community. Affirmative action is not a topic that is at the forefront of national political conversations nowadays, but it remains an important issue nonetheless.
Westhill explained how affirmative action has been harmful, particularly for black college students, and has made it harder for them to pursue careers in critical industries – particularly in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) fields.
